DVD BREAKDOWN:

Two silhouetted faces are meeting in the shadows for this DVD cover.  It is of Kristen Scott and Zac Wild barely touching lips. You can see an out of focus Bree Daniels gazing at them in the distance. This is carried artistically yet mysteriously with such subtleties on this film cover. This DVD's entrance adorns a mainstream approach which can be seen as a couples feature on the shelf at first glance. Missa X is the studio and they advertise this presence at the upper right corner of the DVD with its logo. The cast list is close by with no director credit in view. It is right next to the film’s title with each of the words “greed”, “love”, and “betrayal” written in differing fonts yet matching in place at the bottom of this box design.  Flip it around to see the boldly true phrase "Divorce is a failure" over the summary of the film. A splash of various images from the movie surrounds the notification of the bonus that exists on the disc. Aside from this, it is the viewer's only visual guidance on the backbox as to what this feature may entail. The short summary at the top adds just a little hint as to what this film may be about.  The cryptic descriptions are enough to have me rip this DVD box open and stuff the disc in my laptop to watch in eager curiosity.

OPENING STATEMENT:

I’ve always felt I was missing out on Missa X. They are one of those studios that seem easy to miss underneath the overflow of content that crashes over us porn fans. We're just rocks with these giant waves of new porn spilling over us almost every minute. But in the ocean of porn, there are treasures to be found for those willing enough to go exploring out there. I feel Missa X is one of those troves that can lead to wonderful results but I just haven't looked until now. They aren't completely unfamiliar to me so the legend speaks of performers like Whitney Wright directing other features for them. This adds even more excitement as this studio has quality performers in mind with all aspects of their creations. As if the cast of this particular film, Greed, Love, and Betrayal, didn't already indicate the presence of quality personnel. 

AUDIO/VIDEO:

There is no real indication of any Dolby support for Greed, Love, and Betrayal on the box itself. My wireless cans would only be the determining factor for me. The soft piano riff that is the music on the DVD menu was quite alluring. Speaking of menus there aren't many of them on the disc and there isn't any flashy animation to be seen in the scene selection or on the main menu.  Besides the notification of the award-nominated bonus scene with Ivy Wolfe, there were no extra tidbits about 4K support or even HD capabilities. I had to wait and see until I had the disc running in my device.

This film is a slow bleed from start to finish with the development of the plot happening too late in the game. It takes almost 30 minutes for the first sex scene to ever grace the screen. It happens after some instances of a back story involving a few flashbacks.  Upon this realization of bad pacing was the fact that Greed, Love, and Betrayal had some of the best actors/actresses this industry has to offer. Unfortunately, they are misused here in a film that struggles to find its footing plot-wise.  I wouldn’t even reduce it by referring to it as a couples feature folly because I’m sure Miss X is known for better stuff.  It wasn’t happening here with Greed, Love, and Betrayal. I’d have to say Skip it if you see it anywhere and watching something else instead. This has actually urged me to check out other films by Missa X to get a better representation of what the studio has to offer. Because I refuse to judge an entire studio on one film's mundane efforts.
