Extras: For some, the unrelated bonus scene from Happy Endings (between Gracie Glam and Brendon Miller) lasting 12:07 minutes will be the best extra. Gracie was an active rider and as short as the scene was, it had a lot going for it (translation: “a lot” = Gracie Glam). There was a photogallery, a slip cover, some trailers (including some at the beginning of the DVD and one for the feature itself), a promotional reel, and some spam. The best related extra though was for the 10:24 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Lee Snijders, David clearly in charge though guys like Francois Clousot, Eric Masterson and Barrett Blade were assisting from what I could tell. Unlike many other BTS clips provided by the company, there was not a lot of discussion regarding the director providing background data; the name change from “Gracie Glam Unleashed” to the present title (the former title soundly a lot like something from Elegant Angel).

Audio/Video Quality: Breaking All Ties was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen by director David Lord for Wicked Pictures. This standard definition title had Francois Clousot and Barrett Blade on cameras, Eric Masterson as production assistant, and a crew of familiar faces all associated with quality work in the past. Unlike one of the company’s straightforward features, this one played a bit fast & loose with conventional rules, some of the artistic touches on a few scenes certain to please some at the expense of others. This being David’s first credited work for the company he helped champion back in the heyday of DVD (“Crawdaddy” was as instrumental as Jenna Jameson in elevating its stature for this reviewer and many others ten years or more ago; a fact I have never forgotten), I wasn’t sure what to expect but his headliner parodies at Adam & Eve make him a natural to work for Wicked, the accuracy of the flesh tones, the composition of the shots, and all the other aspects of the visual elements enhancing the look of the ladies throughout the show. The audio was presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround but the encoding appeared to be added in during post production given the information provided during the BTS feature, the vocals heard clearly enough and the limited musical score okay, the 384 Kbps aural bitrate sufficient to convey this aspect of the movie for me.

Body of Review: David Lord has been a mover and shaker in porn for a long time now, my first memories of him being as a guy who helped put Wicked Pictures on the proverbial map during the advent of the DVD format in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. As the industry has had all sorts of movement in technical personnel, I found it almost ironic that his return to the company as a director would start off with a starlet showcase like Breaking All Ties, the popular Gracie Glam seen in or around each of the five scenes. The story elements were minimal here, the story about a jilted housewife looking for love in all the right places striking me as cute. If you are a fan of Gracie Glam, consider this another must have showcase of her attributes, David spinning enough uniqueness in the show to break it away from the gonzo styled titles I’m used to seeing Gracie populate. The back cover described the movie like this: “After Gracie comes home early to discover her husband in bed with another woman, her initial anger is replaced by a strange, sensual curiosity. She is left with a renewed determination to find herself sexually, perhaps for the first time. Her journey of discovery finds her trying new experiences ...girl/girl, three-ways, and domination. In the end, Gracie learns that her deepest desire is to break all ties to the past in order to welcome true passion for her future.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used for those still interested:

Cassandra Cruz and Gracie Glam with Michael

Scene One: Brynn Tyler, a blond babe with gorgeous eyes, was up first in bed slobbing the knob of Bill Bailey, her hand to gland combat enhancing the hummer as she worked him over aggressively. Gracie portrayed a meek chick still upset at the betrayal of her husband quite well, the nuanced performance making the resulting lesbian frolicking more believable. Julia was clearly in charge of this sexual exploration, licking Gracie’s face and grabbing her by the throat until she started aggressively kissing; Gracie’s willingness to go along showing her need without a lot of words. Julia gave more fingering than Gracie but Gracie gobbled Julia’s pussy more from where I sat, the use of a glass dildo on the youthful charge getting Gracie off more than Julia.

Scene Three: Cassandra Cruz, a curvy Latina wearing a skin tight dress, was up next with caged Gracie Glam and Michael Vegas in a rundown dungeon of a place. Cassandra and Michael started things off with a kiss and some pawing, her enthusiastic blowjob and active vaginal riding getting Gracie to masturbate in her cage nearby. It finished up when he beat off a round of ball batter to her open mouth, Gracie smiling at the effect she had on him before the credits rolled.

Summary: Breaking All Ties by director David Lord for Wicked Pictures had shorter sexual trysts than I am currently used to seeing and the omnipresent condoms did nothing for (or against) my sensibilities but Gracie looked as fuckable as ever and the technical qualities were solid enough to merit a rating of Recommended. I’d like to see David helm one (or more) of the company’s yearly blockbusters given some of his recent successes when given the time, money, and resources a big company can offer but even on this smaller scale he proves he is a force to be reckoned with. In short, Breaking All Ties amounted to a cute showcase for Gracie Glam’s fetching sexual persona, her allure a given to her extensive fanbase and well worth checking out in this release.
