Synopsis

Girls in Ecstasy is a three-scene girl/girl movie featuring the Australian girls of www.abbywinters.com. The scenes are extra-long, average about 51 minutes each, and feature real girls having real lesbian sex. Each sex scene includes two behind-the-scenes featurettes: one shot before the scene and the other afterward.

The girls in Girls in Ecstasy are unique in that they're really not quintessential "porn stars." Their bodies are real (not sculpted to some "ideal"), they wear no make-up, and do not engage in typical "porn star" activities such as fake kissing or phony groaning. Many of them also avoid stereotypical "bald" vaginal grooming, so prevalent in porn, by letting their pubic hair grow naturally. One of the things I really liked about Girls in Ecstasy is the simple fact that the girls are fucking for each other, not for us. This is my first-ever look at an abbywinters.com release. I had great expectations for the movie since several of my critic colleagues think highly of abbywinters.com movies. I was impressed by the realism of the girls and the intensity of the sex they share. However, I was dismayed by the obvious lack of concern for important things such as production values, professional-level videography, and aesthetics.

For example, I think it's very important for us to get to know the girls and why they're together before a sex scene starts. Most adult movies use either plot development or scene set-up dialog to introduce us to the performers. In the case of Girls in Ecstasy, there is no (or extremely little) context for the sex scenes. In one case, the girls are already making out when the scene fades in. In another, a few seconds of scene-set up includes one girl knocking at a door and the other answering it. Then, it's wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am into foreplay.

The videographer(s) who captured the scenes is pretty amateurish. The video is often overexposed and the performers' bodies are often cut in half when the camera points at some non-essential part of the set rather than at the girls. The camera movements are often very jerky, too, instead of being smooth and fluid.

Although abbywinters.com makes a big deal that their performers are "real" and "wear no make-up," I think it's folly to consider it somehow unreal for women to wear make-up (almost all women I know wear at least a tad!). I strongly suggest that each abbywinters girl receive at least a minimal amount of make-up before their scenes in order to bring out the best of her beauty. This notion extends to hairstyles and wardrobe, too.

Nonetheless, I must admit that I really enjoyed watching all six abbywinters girls have the times of their lives. They're real, they're horny, and they're Sapphic!

Final Thoughts

The best things about Girls in Ecstasy include:

• the authenticity of the girls. They're real and not some professionally-sculpted "Barbie dolls."
• the genuineness of the sex the girls enjoy. They don't give us a show. They fuck each other for their own pleasure, not ours.
• the quality and quantity of the girls' orgasms. As a female orgasm junkie, I really appreciate all their climaxes.
