Extras: The best extra for me was the inclusion of a complete DVD of Young Ripe Mellons #1, the reissued version from the company vaults (it was initially released under the Red Light District banner though that version is now OOP). There were various trailers, a cumshot recap, and a photogallery as well as web access.

Audio/Video Quality: Cover Girls was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an approximate aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Vince Vouyer for Vince Vouyer Unleashed using the MPEG-2 encoding and 480 resolution you would expect of a standard definition title. The lighting was flat and even most of the time (except some flare ups or stylish attempts at trying new things), still better than that which you'll find in most gonzo porn and topping a few of Vince's recent efforts. There was little grain and the fleshtones were even better this time making me think that the HD picture might look even better on one of the newer high resolution formats, but only by a small margin given the look of the ladies thanks to his fine work shooting the scenes with the bitrate coming in around the 3.6 Mbps rate most of the time. There was some pattern noise but it was not common, the same holding true for some color saturation issues here. The composition of the shots was such that the ladies were made to look as good as Vince could make them and given his level of skill developed over the years, he showed he still has what it takes to make hot women even hotter looking but I hated the company logo used as a watermark in the lower right hand corner so often. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English (192 Kbps bitrate) but there was no separation between the channels and the vocals were on the low side in all but a few circumstances.

Body of Review: Vince Vouyer has long been one of my favorite directors, his current work under the Vince Vouyer Unleashed label among the best he has ever done. Almost overnight the man has reinvented himself in some ways and the results show he is not just another mope with a camera. His latest fuck flick making it my way is a compilation of eight hardcore scenes, the decision to select the best action possible arguable (we all have our personal favorites) but outstanding nonetheless in Cover Girls. We all look for something different in compilations but this one starred such notable ladies as Lisa Ann, Shyla Stylez, Kristina Rose, and Gianna Michaels, the rest of the pack certainly worthy of your time, money, and seed too. Clocking in at just under four hours, the technical values were also an upgrade over companies relying so heavily on filters and camera tricks, my appreciation for the casting and camera work alone making it stand out in my opinion. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Titty Sweat 2: Ball Savvy: Gianna Michaels, the hugely popular hotty featured on the front cover, was up next with stately Lexington Steele, her basketball skills such that she impressed the world in her loose white top and tight blue shorts (that provided some camel toe action).
