The South of France, just East of the ancient Mediterranean port city of Marseille. A remote mercenary training facility. Men gone bad, on the run from the law, and themselves. Mercenaries, soldiers of fortune.

"Soldier Boy" is filled with horny soldiers who seem more interested in sex than any type of military maneuvers.

The French actors are all handsome and quite hot without being "pretty dudes". Most are uncut and all have pubes that have not been shaved.

The seven sex scenes all have the same set-up: two soldiers sitting on a cot with some basic military decorations to set the mood.

Scenes One though Seven:

The sex consists mostly of jacking-off, blowjobs, and facial money shots. Although the scenes follow the same formula, they are never dull or monotonous thanks to the hunky models. On occasion, these soldiers delve into some rimming and there is anal action in three of the scenes. One scene features three soldiers. Each money shot is shown twice from different angles.

The use of a hand-held camera gets right into the middle of the action. The ever-probing eye of the lens gets down to business with nice close-ups of all the sweaty man lovin' and never misses some of the biggest money shots I have been in some time. The film has an amateur quality that I really dig. This is no-frills filmmaking: no bad/wooden acting, no pretense of a plot, just pure sex.

The DVD

Video:

"Soldier Boy" is shot directly on video. The picture is crisp and clean; the lighting keeps the action easy to see. The movie is presented in full screen. Again, the use of hand-held camera gets right into the action and is always nice and clear.

Sound:

The sound is all natural and easily picks up the soldier's conversations (French with no subtitles) and every soldier's expression of pleasure. There is no music in "Soldier Boy" which adds a more realistic feel to the situations presented in the film.

Extras:

The extras consist of chapter stops, a selection to watch only the money shots, and the distribution company's website address. Needless to say, the extras are skimpy. I would have liked to seen some trailers for other releases.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I enjoyed "Soldier Boy" because it contains many of my favorite aspects of XXX movies: military theme, hunky dudes who are not "pretty dudes", uncut dudes with unshaved pubes, and an amateur/realistic feel. My use of the word "amateur" is used in the best sense, as the camera work is quite good. The film will not disappoint fans of military themes.

The only two aspects of the film I did not care for was one dude seemed in need of blowjob training, and the lack of any foreskin play. With all the uncut guys, I was hoping for more.

On a humorous non-sexual side-note, once scene consists of a soldier showing off his nunchucks skills. I could not help but think of the hilarious dude in "Ghost World".
