Audio/Video Quality: Official Basic Instinct Parody was presented in a visually appealing anamorphic widescreen color using an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Gary Orona for Zero Tolerance using the MPEG-2 codec employed by standard definition releases with a 480 resolution. The lighting was strong, eliminating the shadows and grain I dislike so much, the overall look of the show was surprisingly strong for a director with limited titles under his belt. The bitrate tended to hover around the mid 6.2 Mbps area most of the time I paid any attention to it, the composition of the camera angles typically optimal for the ladies but always managing to keep the feature aspects in mind. The composition of the scenes enhanced the look of the ladies, this particular cast able to handle the solid lighting quite well. The sole audio track was presented in 1.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps rate using a 48 kHz sampling rate most titles are mastered with, the aural aspects fairly limited but much like the gonzo titles the company is known for, just upgraded with ambient noises to flesh out the aural experience. There was also no separation between the channels but the dynamic range was a lot better than usual. The voices could be clearly heard with the balance between those and the music nicely handled, the ambient effects also mixed in properly.

Body of Review: Gary Orona is a relative newcomer to directing porn but he has made quite a splash with his best efforts released by Zero Tolerance. Gary’s focus has been to take popular horror/thriller movies and “re-envision” them rather than completely spoof them, paying homage to the originals more than just pornify them with added sex scenes, a dynamic many find appealing compared to the limited vision of the knock off crowd. His latest release is called Official Basic Instinct Parody, adding a bit less subtle humor as previous efforts in an attempt to be amusing as well as entertain in a fuck flick. Michael Vegas stars as a detective trying to get to the bottom of a murder case, the bottom in this case belonging to hotty Breanne Benson. Unlike the original, this time the detective has a field of three suspects to interrogate, expanding the dynamic in such a way to make the heated sexual trysts work within the confines of the plot rather than appear tacked on like most of Gary’s peers seem to do. With Francesca Le, Lexi Belle, Lyla Stone, and Brandy Aniston rounding out the cast, I felt the likelihood that this parody would work as a feature as well as a sexual stroke flick was above average.

The back cover described the movie like this: “This taut X-rated version of the thriller classic brings its story to new heights of sexual tension. Breanne Benson delivers a delicious femme fatale performance as Catherine Trammel, the number one suspect in the murder case Nick Curran (Michael Vegas) is trying to crack. He'd like to engage in a penetrating investigation of all three female suspects, if only he could dodge another kind of "internal affair." But as the plot thickens, Nick is able to wield his eight-inch weapon to bring this hilarious parody to a satisfying climax!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Lexi Belle, one of the hottest little babes in porn for some time now, and blond “Lady Gaga” look alike Breanne Benson, were up first in a lesbian scene by the stair railing in a nice house. Their flimsy lingerie fell to the floor easily enough, Lexi coming across as the sexual aggressor initially, some titty play leading to muff diving though the musical score was louder than the limited vocals.

Scene Two: Lyla Storm, a lean brunette with an appealing face, the exposition by Michael Vegas, encouraging her to put on a striptease show for him in the home office. She gyrated and bent over, removing her attire while looking over at him in a seductive manner. By the time her skirt was lowered, her thong showed little coverage for her perfect pucker, Michael going down on her half as aggressively as she slobbed his knob and jerked him off. Lyla actively rode his pecker in her snatch using various positions, a small facial of genetic juice gracing her mug before they reclined on the couch.

Scene Three: Brandy Aniston, a curvy brunette with a need for seed, was up next in the interrogation room with hardnosed Ryan McLane, the gal mocking him until he capitulated into joining her physically. She stripped to show she had nothing to hide, the couple kissing before he lowered his attention to her twat. The scene closed out when he jerked out a round of spunk to her face, Francesca keeping eye contact as she seemed to appreciate his semen.

Scene Five: Breanne Benson, already naked as she dug her claws into Michael Vegas, was up last as she choked and otherwise showed her appreciation for his hands all over her body. The music was pretty decent here, just a tad overly aggressively mixed in at times, blowing him and riding him in doggy and cowgirl variations until he bust a nut on her abdomen in missionary.

Summary: Official Basic Instinct Parody by director Gary Orona for Zero Tolerance was entertaining enough to merit a rating of Recommended or better depending on your tastes in women and sexual activity, the feature elements closely enough mirroring major portions of the original Sharon Stone/Michael Douglas hit to arouse while winking in homage too. Some of the casting was questionable and I think in a few instances that a more aggressive use of the original elements might have helped even more but I enjoyed the clever way in which portions were done more than the effort as a whole. In short, the Official Basic Instinct Parody should float the boat of those who have followed the director thus far, has ability to combine sex with entertaining scenarios based at least loosely on mainstream winners giving him some deserved accolades compared to others in the industry unable or unwilling to step it up a few notches.
