Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, the porn industry standard at this time. I was kind of expecting it to look blurry and grain as heck given how lame the DVD cover looked and my experience with amateur porn but I was pleasantly surprised to find the picture almost good. Yes, there were some of the usual problems but overall it looked pretty good. Sadly, the camera work left a lot to be desired. While I prefer a bit of movement in my camera work, I think this one had too many close ups and too many wild shots. Still, aside from the aforementioned issues, I thought there was plenty of potential here. The audio was another story however. The audio was presented in a 2-channel PCM track that varied a whole lot. It wasn't as bad as a few other releases I've listened to this past week but it needed a whole lot more spit and polish.

Body of Review: One of the more popular genre's of porn is that of the amateur/pro-am. Most people are familiar with New Machine's lines by Ed Powers and Randy West and a lot of people are also familiar with William Witrock's Real Sex Magazine series but the smaller lines out there are barely known. While Power's is the king of the Northeast, Witrock of Southern California, West in Florida, and Mike South in the Southeast, particularly Georgia, who is left to handle the Middle of the country? In answer to that a friend sent me a copy of Filthy Frank's Real Amateur Porn #18. The company is headquartered out of Illinois and brings a unique style to the Pro-Am genre. The cast acted like they watched a Sopranos marathon on HBO (all hype, no substance), which did add a bit of levity to the show. The idea of the show was to provide a forum for women who have little experience screwing in front of a camera to strut their stuff. The resident studs are Tommy and Favio with the interviews by Frank himself. The sex was never especially hot or varied but guys who like watching new gals are going to have to live with that fact, regardless of whom the watch. With that in mind, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Kylie, a lean gal with a tight body, warmed up with mouthy Frank but had sex with Tommy on the couch. The sex was oral and straight only but not too bad.

Scene Two: Fallon, a cute blonde with a natural body and small breasts, had sex with Tommy in the bathroom. This time, no condom was used but the sex was oral and straight again. At the end of the scene, he gave her a facial. I didn't think the two had any chemistry or warmth but it was about as good as anything Ed Powers puts out on a regular basis.

Scene Three: This scene started a bit differently with Amber and Tommy going at it long before the camera was turned on. The redhead is blowing him until they start boning on the couch and Frank comes in to mess with them, even rubbing Tommy's leg during the sex act (ewww). It was run of the mill as far as scenes go but they had fun.

Scene Four: Julia, a lean brunette that was featured on the cover, did Favio in a decent scene. She looked a lot like your average house dancer at a mid-range strip club. Admittedly, she looked a bit better on the cover than in the movie but I could see some potential for her making adult movies. Oral and straight sex only.

Scene Five: Kylie did a return visit here but with Favio this time. He used a condom and ended it by giving her a facial (he likes giving the ladies a shot to the eye). It wasn't a bad scene with her acting more like she was having a good time here than before.

Summary: Okay, I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of the pro-am genre of porn since I like the ultra attractive women that have proven themselves or those with exceptionally good sexual abilities, particularly when shot by professionals. That said, I think the show was worth a rating of Rent It for fans of the genre, a number of whom will likely find it a good alternative to the other releases on the market. There was plenty of room for improvement and hopefully the females will look better in the future (they weren't ugly by any means unless you have a small child fetish but they weren't top of the line either) but for an early effort, I can see where the gals could make a go of it. If you get a chance, check it out and see if it works for your tastes.
