A Ninn Worx Project, Fem Adagio is a girls-only film that continues the line's predilection for sensuous imagery often presented in slow motion, with pulsing, jazzy scores, and with a focus on the striptease. You get gorgeous, glamorous girls in high-class settings. You get expensive-looking toys and S&M-flavored wardrobe. With these stylistic tendencies, you get a predictable series of long flash-edited stripteases, slow-mo masturbation, followed by some delicious scenes of lesbian sex. The downside is that some of these scenes are downright irritating in their spastic editing and MTV-style imagery. These are long, often 20-minute scenes that you might end up fast-forwarding through.

Scene 1

The first scene begins with two women engaging in a long striptease, moving to a pouty masturbation episode in which we go back and forth between the two women under an overlay of sultry rock and slo-mo and camera tricks and style. The women finally get together for some beautiful standing cunnilingus, reciprocating nicely, and we're treated to some funky camera angles of the action. The scene ends with some strap-on play. Grade: B+

Scene 2

This scene provides more of the same, two girls teasing and masturbating for the camera. As in the first scene, they end up meeting for some predictable cunny-lapping, then a little play with a red dildo to a surprising lack of music. They take turns with the dildo, and that's about it. Grade: B-

Scene 3

This scene is unique among the rest because it features three women, and they engage in some serious masturbation—although separately, just as in the first scenes. However, they soon make a sultry threesome, providing the most effective scene on the disc. There's great cunnilingus to be found here, and some fun positions, including dildo play. I wish this scene had gone longer—it seems to end just as it's getting truly hot. Grade: A

Scene 4

Now we're back to the two-girl scenario. They strip and masturbate for us, and I appreciated the glorious sight of the two all-nude blondes. The whole scene has a blisteringly sensual quality. Near the end, a dildo kinda spoils this scene, which before its introduction had been so natural and fun. Grade: B-

Scene 5

The final scene has two girls soul-kissing right away—no need for any of that teasing and masturbating this time! Better yet, it takes place outdoors. Unfortunately, the zing just ain't there, and the actresses seem flat. The camera gets in too close to the dildo action, and the scene is ruined. Too bad, because this one coulda been a contender. Grade: C

VIDEO/AUDIO PRESENTATION

At first, I thought I was in for a non-anmorphic 1.85:1 presentation, but after the credits, the widescreen dissolves to full-frame. This is a 1.33:1 presentation that is adequately detailed. However, the director seems to have used a softening filter, and sometimes you want to see more detail in even the close-ups. Colors, however, are quite good, if a bit too pink. I noticed some digital jagginess. The audio presentation shines, even though it's merely a stereo mix. The low end is powerful, coming through primarily in the energetic score.

EXTRAS

The disc gives you a 22-minute Behind the Scenes featurette that is shot in a style that's very similar to that of the feature—that is, it's sometimes annoying, but it is also rewarding. A lot of it is footage from the feature, interspersed with shots of the filming and of cameras getting in close to the action. There are also many funny moments, as girls wink for the cameras and goof off. Later, there's some interview footage that's mildly amusing. There's a fly-on-the-wall feeling to this effort.
