Synopsis

Told as a series of revelations unfold during a grueling post-mission debriefing by a cold and calculating psychiatrist (Bryn Pryor), Upload tells the story of how a Digital Security Agent (Eva Angelina) and her partner (Derrick Pierce) discovered a rogue computer program code-named Enigma, how the chip holding the program was sought after by unscrupulous underworld types, and how it was eventually uploaded to the web in a way that changed everything in the world. It is a complex and thoroughly gripping tale that will keep you glued to your chair for the entire four and three-quarter hours that the movie runs.

The Digital Security Agency, for which Eva works, is a not-so-distant future subsection of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Although their job appears to be keeping the nation's internet grid free from destructive viruses, Eva and Derrick spend most of their time hunting down unauthorized sexual simulation chips. Future humans, you see, can plug one of these small digital-camera-like cards into a slot at the base of their skulls and participate in the simulation contained thereon. Even though it's Eva's job to rid the world of these sims, she is addicted to them. In fact, many of the sex scenes in the movie are sims that Eva experiences...playing herself or other characters. Can you imagine how amazing it would be to actually experience all the sights, sounds, and sensations of having sex with Eva Angelina? The thought of having a chip slot at the base of my neck to do just that is both very intriguing and extremely scary. Would you slip a computer chip into your body to have sex with a porn star? Think about it!

During a routine shakedown of an informant (Evan Stone), Eva learns of Enigma and its unprecedented power. She and her partner soon bust the girlfriend of the program's creator (Hillary Scott) and interrogate her repeatedly...even forcing her to succumb to a body cavity search. Stupidly, Eva allows her private questioning of Hillary to be broadcast via her cell phone so that partner Derrick can overhear an ostensibly off-the-record discussion. Immediately, underworld operatives hear Hillary's revelations and immediately target them for execution. Much of the remainder of the movie involves Eva, Hillary, and Derrick running for their lives, beating back attackers, and, in the end, barely escaping with their lives.

Upload is another of director Eli Cross' groundbreaking masterpieces. Last year, he pushed the envelope by introducing fisting to the U.S. porn market in Corruption. This year, fisting becomes nearly routine in Upload. But, urination is added. Yes, a girl actually pees into another girl's gaping asshole. I find it very interesting to note that all the nastiest sexual behaviors in Upload are girl-on-girl. Girls do the fisting and, of course, receive the benefits of having their vaginas and anuses stretched wide. And, girls do the peeing and are peed upon.

Yes, Upload is a hard-edged movie that is not for the faint-of-heart or those looking for pretty or couples-friendly couplings. It's hard-hitting, envelope-pushing, and edgy. It's a real thriller combined with volcanic and multi-orgasmic sex that, I think, is must-see.

I must take a moment to congratulate Eva Angelina. Eva is one of my 2007 Dr. Jay's Must See Girls winners and has been one of my favorite performers for three years running. I've been saying that she has an unbeatable combination of sexual prowess, looks, and acting ability that should not be overlooked. I am certainly glad that director Eli Cross chose her to head the cast of Upload. He could not have chosen better. Her sexual performance as well as her portrayal of her character (and her stunts!) are definitely award winning!

Kudos, too, to Hillary Scott. The 2007 AVN and XRCO Performer of the Year never fails to satisfy. Both her acting and sexual performances are superb in Upload.

Derrick Pierce is also to be congratulated. His portrayal of Eva's partner is definitely noteworthy and makes him, in my mind, a contender for the XRCO Single Performance Actor award.

One final word...the videography, editing, and special effects are stunning. The movie purportedly has over 200 superb special effects. The editing...especially in the huge orgy scene...is really to be commended because the clips keep your attention without being distracting. I particularly liked the addition of music or other sound effects to most of the plot-development scenes as well as most of the sex scenes. The soundtrack and the on-screen action merge in perfect accord. Finally...the lighting is stupendous. Never "pretty" or "flattering," the light always casts the exact right mood for the scene.

Note to readers: Due to unprecedented demands on my time at this point of my life, I simply cannot devote as much time as I'd like to these reviews. Disc Four includes: "Bonus Scene," "Photo Surveillance," "Outtakes," "Screenplay," "Teaser," "Trailers," "The Emergency Rough Cut," "The Raw Teslabot Virtual Dojo Fight," and "Upload Lexicon." This selection of extras is truly extraordinary and earns a solid five-point rating.
