Audio/Video Quality: Suck It Dry 5 was primarily presented in a standard full frame 1.33:1 ratio (some scenes in letterboxed, non-anamorphic widescreen) color as shot by director Jonni Darkko for Evil Angel/Darkko Productions in the MPEG-2 codec used for standard definition porn (with a 480i resolution for those keeping track). The bitrate hovered on the lower end of the scale much of the time, typically in the 2.6 Mbps range though jumping around a fair bit too; going higher as often as not. The lighting was often flat and solid, reducing the amount of grain, video noise, and other flaws directly related to the technical aspect. The fleshtones were perfect with the crisp look of clarity I like when Jonni is spot on with his work. The point of view (POV) nature of the production meant that the men were anonymous as the ladies had to concentrate on servicing them without any of the usual clues that help determine chemistry or heat. The composition was almost always favorable to the ladies and the editing seemed to enhance the look of the show more than a little bit, thanks to the extensive efforts of Eddie Powell who also made the cool DVD menus stand out with his skillful touch (my only complaint being the inability to skip to a specific point in the movie with the way it was mastered). In general, this was another very visually appealing piece of work though thanks to the efforts of the production staff as well as the cast. The audio was provided in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English track (at a 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) was thumping but truncated at the right moment after the tease to allow the vocals to got the spotlight during the scenes.

Body of Review: Jonni Darkko is the kind of porn director that wraps his head around a concept more than follows a distinctive formula, at least he has been that way ever since signing with Evil Angel. While his vision of raw sexuality and depraved antics do not always work for me equally well, I would be in denial if I said much of his work gets better with time, some of his older titles proving their replay value over and over again as evidenced when I was organizing my collection last month. Needless to say, his qualities as a director make the man the kind of reliable source for smut that it was surprising that none of my associates picked up Suck It Dry 5 when it came onto our reviewer pick list. The movie is all about hot, messy, sloppy, vibrant blowjobs, 16 of them in all with a diverse cast including Jessica Bangkok, Cassandra Calogera, Adriana Deville, Roxy DeVille, Misti Love, Eva Angelina, Leah Livingstone, Rachel Roxxx, Kristina Rose, Velicity Von, Emma Cummings, Lana Croft, Hannah West, Angelina Valentine, Drew Butterfly, and Lana Violet. Rather than break down the scenes by the tiny variances they had to offer, I figured that anyone reading this review would care more about pictures of the gal as well as a general idea of the action provided, all blowjob action for those not paying attention.

The ladies would all tease a little before slobbing a knob, giving a hint of flesh from their ass, their titties, the pussies, or simply a devious smile that projected competence in their chosen field of endeavor. Unlike some of the competition, Jonni also varied the amount of time each scene lasted depending on the skill of the performers rather than require a set amount of time (some blowjob titles amaze me at how consistent the length of the scenes are except those edited for time over content). That being said, some gals made a guy last what seemed like forever while a few were so darned efficient that they inhaled the baloney pony well enough to milk their anonymous partners dry with carefree ease. The racial and ethnic diversity of the cast aside, each gal had traits they were best at too, some providing the entire experience while others presumably able to suck a golf ball through a garden hose from the looks of it. The technical values and levels of heat were always such that a rating of Recommended was the bottom line though I'm sure any aficionado of oral-only flicks would be creaming their jeans to prop it up even higher. In short, Suck It Dry 5 provided just what was advertised and in copious quantity, no shortcuts depriving you of the full effect of orally gifted gals gone wild. Nice work by all involved!
