Extras: For me, the best extra was the 29:04 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, a blooper reel, set of interviews, and clips from the production rolled into one. For most other people, the 89:28 minutes worth of unrelated bonus scenes will be the best extras, the five edited scenes from 59 Seconds, All Dressed Up, On The Couch, Suck It, and Undress Me as described in detail below. There was also a photogallery, some trailers, and spam at the front of the DVD but that was it.

Audio/Video Quality: Sex Time was presented in an anamorphic widescreen with an aspect ratio of about 1.78:1 for most scenes (Brittney's scene a lame 1.33:1 ratio full frame) as shot by director Laurent Sky for Vivid Entertainment using the MPEG-2 codec for this standard definition release (the resolution in 480i). The colors looked accurate, the lighting was a mixture of various techniques that sometimes worked better than others, the level of grain typically minimal (nonexistent), and the composition of the shots typically making the performers look their best, the fast paced editing not always working to the advantage of the project. There were no compression artifacts, no video noise, and while I would've liked more of a straightforward approach to the scenes, the movie wasn't bad looking at all. The company watermark in the lower right hand corner did tend to stick out substantially though, distracting me from watching the movie at times. The only choice for audio was the basic 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate), this time using vocals mixed in with the loud music to enhance the heat and energy for me. There wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and the dynamic range lacked a bit but I didn't get the sense that the audio was blown off here at all, but the music over vocals approach is not my favorite to say the least.

Body of Review: Vivid Entertainment has employed some interesting directors over the years, one of them being Laurent Sky. While most of his work is associated with Club Jenna, his stylish offerings seem to appeal to a small but dedicated group of fans that were raised on MTV style editing, flashy club lighting, and music of an intrusive nature. Taking advantage of this, Laurent came up with an idea to poke some fun at his critics years ago with a movie now titled Sex Time. While the five sex scenes were about the same as he always provides, he spiced things up here with a series of clips by an anti-Sky Laurent critic "Dr. Tanenbaum" and a pro-Laurent hotty by the name of Brooke Belle (their respective bits sandwiched between the sex scenes labeled "Dr. Tanenbaum Time" and "Blonde Time" respectively), the veiled references to awards, critics, and the quality of direction Laurent provides plentiful (if nonsensical). It was a shame that the sex scenes did not show half as much imagination, for then the production might have made sense to store in the vaults since 2005. The sex wasn't bad though with gals like Sandra Romain, Hillary Scott, and Eva Angelina all giving a single scene (as did Kate Frost and featured performer Brittney Skye). The back cover said it like this: "Wow! Hillary Scott, Brittney Skye, Eva Angelina, Sandra Romain and Kate Frost....all in the same movie! Yes, it's true, and under the amazingly imaginative direction of Laurent Sky, one of adult greatest visionaries. Sex time.... it's all about time. The time it takes to strip, the time it takes to suck, the time it takes to come. And of course, awards time... when you'll get to enjoy it all over again!" Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Still, the funny clips taking potshots at critics in general did show a sense of humor typically lacking in Laurent's works so I couldn't resist encouraging folks to check out Sex Time.
