There was a lot of strong lighting that helped maximize the quality of the picture, the camera still showing a lot of extra movement thanks to Raul’s usual jumpy method of catching the action. The lack of editing (these were live shows, remember) did not help in this endeavor either with a movie as long as this one needing extra care to make sure that there is enough tease but also heated sexual antics, my initial impression being that there was less tease footage than usual which admittedly hurt the rating. The bitrate was decent so there were few obvious compression artifacts, the aliasing minimal and given the sheer amount of quality footage on display, most fans will be quite happy; Raul allowing the ladies to provide some heated raw energy even if his attempts to capture it were mixed. The bitrate hovered all over the place this time, higher than usual with most of the movie in the 5.3 Mbps range, but varying across the board depending on the scene. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was some potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, an area that seemed slightly better than previous efforts and an area that Raul could easily improve to make best use of the great many home theaters in the hands of porn fans everywhere.

Body of Review: Raul Cristian is the European director at Evil Angel that frequently brings a bit of an edge to the company, the ladies sometimes treated more like cock sockets than my preference allows for. Most of his work that I’ve seen uses European ladies that are not always the most emotive in their performances, the typical complaint being they act like they are bored so I tend to prefer his work using domestic hotties, such being the case with Live Gonzo 2, a double disc title sent to me for review. Like the first volume in the series that I praised so heartily, this one starred an exceptional cast of that any producer would be proud of; my favorites including Eva Angelina and Jayden Jaymes. The premise was simple enough, the scenes were very lengthy and shot as part of the company website’s live webcam interaction with fans. That means that it would stop at times to allow the ladies to jump on the computer and interact with fans, picking up where they left off for more explicit fun. This time, there was not a bunch of anal antics (which most associate with Raul’s releases) but the ladies were in full porn form as they orally and vaginally attacked cock like it was going out of style. The bonus solo masturbation scene was a plus too but the entire show lasted almost 6 hours so there was no doubt about how much fuck for the buck fans would get.

Summary: Live Gonzo 2 by director Raul Cristian for Evil Angel had the same pacing issues the first volume in the series had but the absolute wealth of material more than made up for it in most cases. My suggestion would be to include all the footage as an extra in regards to the chatting with fans online (tell me they wouldn’t pick up a copy knowing they were personally mentioned!) to enhance the sexual trysts but there was almost enough here to elevate the production above the rating of Recommended that I think most reasonable people would list it as. The fun factor was high and the chemistry between the performers decent in some cases, the extras standing out due to the lengthy solo masturbation scene included as part of the movie’s running time so give Live Gonzo 2 a look and I think you might become a fan of the director.
