DVD BREAKDOWN:

This DVD box features phrases spliced with snapshots of the film near the bottom of the front cover. Under the Desperate Pleasures logo at the top of the box, a subsidiary branch called “Doggvision” rounds out the logos on the DVD. The marquee under the film’s brands reveals Sherry Stunns as the cover girl. She’s laying on a bed with a Polaroid looking screenshot that shows some action right on the front cover.  The rest of the film’s female cast is listed at the very bottom of all of this. Flip the box around to see each of the four scenes summarized with detailed text per slide of photos. Both female and male talent are listed next to the scroll of descriptive words for each scene listed on the back of the box.  At the very bottom is some legal info along with a notice to display in the “interracial section” to any brick and mortar retailers that might stock this DVD.  No mention of 4K or even HD is anywhere noted on this DVD.  There are behind the scenes but don’t expect it to advertise anywhere near the front of this DVD box.

OPENING STATEMENT:

My only exposure to Desperate Pleasures is by word of mouth. They are actually based near where I’m located here in Florida. A company with a word of mouth should at least consist of a cast that I’d recognize but the names found on this DVD are unfamiliar to me. Then I read the phrase “XXX That Just Shouldn’t Happen” on the front cover giving a hint of why there isn’t recognizable talent in this film.  I’m sure many more instances would fall in line with such a peculiar catchphrase after I start watching this film. I wouldn’t even throw into any type of fetish trappings at first sight but to me, it looks like a BBW DVD at first glance.  It helps also that some of the talents are openly listed as BBW as part of their stage names. As a curious consumer, I’d flip the DVD around a few times before putting it back on the shelf. But as a reviewer, it is my duty to spin this DVD and give you my thoughts on a company I’ve been hearing about for quite some time. It is time to see Desperate Pleasures stuff for myself once and for all and I’m starting with the adventures of Dogg The Big Booty Hunter.

AUDIO/VIDEO:

On my PS3 I was able to determine that the DVD supported two-channel Dolby Digital. It was revealed by the system options after hitting the SELECT button on the controller. I use wireless headphones when I watch my porn DVDs and heard absolutely nothing on the main menu in terms of background music. It is just frozen sex still image with the title of the film crudely scribbled up top. The only options available on this overly simplistic menu are to play the movie and the scene selection menu. There isn't even a selectable option to go back to the main menu.  No music in that naked chapters menu either with just another frozen still as the background that isn’t even animated. Each of the four chapters is titled after the female talent per scene, again with no animated thumbs. The aspect ratio didn't even fit the screen I was watching this DVD on. It constantly was surrounded by black bars all around the screen making the picture even smaller.

It is better to look for your big beauties elsewhere instead of anything with Desperate Pleasures. The naked DVD won't do anything for you and frankly, the performers found on it deserve better. I'd Skip this DVD the minute I saw it.
