Extras: The best extra for most fans will be the bonus scene from Kimberly Kane’s Been Blackmaled that lasted 14:43 minutes between Asphyxia Noir and Skin Diamond that I described below. There was then an 12:03 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage, a pop shot recap, a photogallery, trailers, spam, and the usual Vivid extras and “special offer”.

Audio/Video Quality: Devil On A Chain XXX was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Kimberly Kane for Vivid Entertainment. Nate Liquor co-wrote the movie and worked the camera while Octavio Winkytiki handled editing, Kimberly also assisting on art direction with “Slim. The overall look of the non sex parts of the movie was much like the exploitation flicks the show sought to emulate, a good job done by all here in that regard. There was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen at all times for those who care. Seth Cardigan was credited for the sound, boom, and video tech work, Kyle Caruso then polishing it up (or down as the case may be) as the post production supervisor. The aural components of the show were basic, adding some ambient sounds to the vocals and score, audio effects used much like the visual elements to mimic some of the exploitation movies of the 60’s and 70’s.

Body of Review: Kimberly Kane is the infamous performer turned director that has garnered a great deal of acclaim with myself and peers at Xcritic, the woman always managing to come up with something special when directing for Vivid Entertainment. Her latest release is called Devil On A Chain XXX, a movie about a vigilante sister trying to save her kin from those who would do her wrong, the entire feature portion of the movie shot as though it were an exploitation flick from decades ago (akin to some of the Rodriguez movies of late in the mainstream world). Kimberly herself co-wrote the movie with Nate Liquor, the gal only going at it sexually in a single scene but joining her was Skin Diamond, Veruca James, Dana DeArmond, and Brandy Aniston so you know there was plenty of bang for the buck. The back cover said this of the movie: “Kimberly Kane (Candy) has 24 hours to save her sister, played by Skin Diamond, from the clutches of a dark criminal organization. A hot lead takes her to a perverted underbelly of sex trafficking in the bleak California landscape of the Salton Sea... where she's in as much jeopardy as Skin. But only Candy can find her sister...and she'll lay waste to anyone who gets in her way.”

The press release described the production like this: “Kimberly Kane's 'Devil on A Chain' courtesy vivid.com An adult industry creative tour de force, Kane not only directed and stars in the movie, but she also co-wrote the sexploitation/neu vintage, adult action comedy screenplay with Nate Liquor. Filled with action, suspense and revenge, the sexploitation drama includes some of the hottest scenes that Kane could devise. “I wanted to revisit the sexploitation genre of the 70s using the great talents that we have available in this industry,” said Kane. “Of course, I’m breathing new life into these really hip and really stylized movies because I think porn enthusiasts will love the sexy tongue-in-cheek fun. One of my favorite characters is the evil pimp who has OCD and is constantly using a hand sanitizer. I also think that fans will totally love the editing by the amazing Winkytiki.” The tension in Devil on a Chain builds quickly as Candy (played by Kimberly) has just 24 hours to find her sister Cherry (Skin Diamond), who has been kidnapped by a nefarious criminal organization involved in the perverted underbelly of sex trafficking in the bleak Salton Sea California landscape. Only Candy can find her sister and she’ll lay waste to anyone who gets in her way…so move over. The cast also includes Dana deArmond as Sugar, Veruca James as Tweaker Girl #1, Brandy Aniston as Tweaker Girl #2, Charlotte Stokely as Honey, Zak Sabbath as Sweet Potato, DSnoop as Sultan C, Lee Bang as Sheriff and Tommy Pistol as John. When she’s not involved with making adult movies, Kimberly Kane can be found shooting still photos for exhibitions, album covers and for her own pleasure.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Skin Diamond, the exotic hotty seen on the upper half of the front cover, was up first with Tommy Pistol in bed. The ladies looked appropriately slutty and ditched their attire quickly once the sex started, the visually blurred montage showing all sorts of weirdness before they got down to business in earnest. Scene Five: Dana DeArmond, a popular extreme queen transitioning to more feature roles, then closed things up while dressed in sexy sheer lingerie, taking on D-Snoop before the final confrontation between the characters took place. Bonus Scene: Kimberly Kane’s Been Blackmaled: Asphyxia Noir and Skin Diamond were up next in another lesbian pairing, the couple certainly making my “weirdest coupling of the week” list. There was a voodoo/witchcraft vibe given off by the makeup and surroundings but it was the playfulness of their pairing that worked best for me. They used toys vaginally and anally to compliment the oral tricks here, Skin’s ass looking perfect as the rounded rump was penetrated from behind by the alt-ish Asphyxia. The slow, sensual dynamic involved did not change when they switched roles on the toy use either, the use of leg strap on dildos curious compared to their more common version but still a welcome sight given the manner in which they were used. In all, I found the previous lesbian scene in the movie hotter (and kinkier) but I found no fault with this one outside of some minor artistic choices. 14:43 minutes

Summary: Devil On A Chain XXX by director Kimberly Kane for Vivid Entertainment showed her usual flair for combining strokable sex scenes and high style feature elements, capturing the feel for mainstream exploitation flicks better than most of her peers dare try. While I admit that having 40% of the sex scenes from the movie take the form of lesbian trysts is a bit risky, using a cast of attractive ladies such as Kimberly, Skin Diamond, Veruca James, and others certainly helped make this a winner, my rating of Recommended for a general audience or even higher for fans of the genre an easy call. In short, Devil On A Chain XXX was a welcome change of pace from Vivid thanks to Kimberly and her talented technical crew, the movie a lot of fun for those who might not typically enjoy porn.
