Audio/Video Quality: The King of Coochie 5 was presented in a 1.78:1 letterboxed widescreen offering as shot by director Tom Byron for Tom Byron Pictures in the MPEG-2 codec using a 480 resolution. The camera work mixed it up this time with a bit of tease footage taken inside the house, including some quality time of the ladies in skimpy outfits or naked, but much of it out by Tom's pool where the lighting was better too. The video maintained a bitrate of mid 4.8 Mbps most of the time, reducing the obvious compression artifacts to almost none and each scene provided solid fleshtones that appeared to be accurate as Craig Daze and Tom worked the cameras. The composition of the scenes was consistent too with the picture not always optimal (looking better this time though) but as far as Tom's work is concerned, it was shot with the ladies in mind; making the gals look their best for the most part or at least as much as the point of view style he employed could make them. The editing was generally decent, showing the same level of skill as the last time I checked out one of his movies for review, albeit I wished some additional tease footage was left in the scenes or provided in the extras section of the DVD. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate. There was no noticeable separation between the tracks and the dynamic range was limited but I could hear the ladies and the music was not a factor so I would say it was about average in most respects.

Body of Review: Tom Byron and his company, Tom Byron Pictures, are known for offering a more personalized approach to porn than some of the larger companies, not just filling specific target niches but also keeping the action closer to home thematically. His latest title sent my way this weekend was The King of Coochie 5, a selection of five scenes where Tom worked with cuties like Delilah Strong, Memphis Monroe, and Riley Shy, initially offering up some tease, then an interview, and then going at one another like they wanted to get freaky. I admit that I wanted to see how Delilah and Memphis were doing more than anyone else, the ladies seemingly admiring the director as they engaged him in sexual misconduct. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Delilah Strong, one of my personal favorites having returned to porn for another round of rump pumping, was up first with Tom Byron after some tease and a short interview. Scene Three: Riley Shy, a lean redhead with a positive attitude, was up next as she proved to be an upgrade over Cristina. She began with the formulaic tease and interview, showing an appreciation for Tom Byron hiring her, the couple running into each other in the past but not working together. Summary: The King of Coochie 5 by director Tom Byron for Tom Byron Pictures was not the best volume of the series for my tastes, Delilah Strong as hot as ever but some of the newcomers dragging their feet enough to lower the rating to a mere Rent It. There was all the usual sexual activity here but the chemistry was not consistent, nor were the levels of enthusiasm what they could have been, Tom giving his all as he is known to do but the response just not there from a few of his charges. In short, The King of Coochie 5 comes from a long line of very appealing titles but the replay value this time struck a dry spell, the end result being this was for fans only.
