Audio/Video Quality: Dare Dorm #4 was presented in a letter boxed widescreen (a full frame 1.33:1 matted to look like the scenes were shot in widescreen) as shot by the participants for distribution by Jules Jordan Video. Like many other amateur productions, this one looked like a home movie, the nonexistent editing (or minimal editing at best) allowing the cast to act like drunken fools getting off with each other, any scripting done behind the scenes not appearing to matter. There was no watermark and the lighting was marginal at times, the amount of grain and compression artifacts fluctuating substantially though the video bitrate hovered around the 5.1 Mbps mark when I spot checked it on occasion. The compositional errors of the people holding the camera, in most cases at least, made me appreciate even third tier companies for camerawork by comparison, but there was the realism it imbued as a result. The point of such productions is never to rely heavily on the technical aspects so much as the raw energy between the players, this volume not quite as good as one I saw for voting in the AVN Awards earlier this month. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering with a 48 kHz sampling rate and 192 Kbps aural bitrate, the audio definitely in need of some polishing up. In most of the scenes, there would be at least one or two drunken broads vying for the attention of everyone at all times, their repeated comments taking on a “look at me, look at me” kind of dynamic. Still, having shot parties years ago, it helped make the scenes appear realistic.

Body of Review: Jules Jordan Video has been known for technical excellence in their video productions for years now, the great lighting, solid camera work, and typically professional performers all providing a known quantity of strokable smut fans seem to adore. As the company expands into various other genres than just gonzo where it excels so well, the expectations need to be adjusted accordingly. One example of this would be the amateur line JJV now distributes called “Dare Dorm”, presented as real college coeds shooting their own scenes in hopes of winning a $10,000 prize at some point. Like most amateur porn, the technical values are akin to home movies shot by the drunkest person in the room at any given time, none of the heavy editing that Shane’s World uses to polish up their well received Pro-Am titles. In that sense, Dare Dorm #4 which came in for review today, worked for me a lot. Providing some attractive college age women of all shapes having fun times in pursuit of a financial reward as much as using it as an excuse to get laid. I’m not going to ruin the fantasy that nothing was scripted and these impromptu bouts of boning were as well handled as the usual JJV titles but each scene definitely had something to offer, making it strokable and giving some replay value. The sex was oral and vaginal only, no quirks or surprises like some folks might prefer, the fun factor pretty substantial even in this volume. Here’s a very brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that some condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: My Lucky Day: Melanie, Britney, Renee, and Thorn, have a lengthy tryst that starts off with some kissing but reverts to a series of oral and vaginal sex in the dorm room. The ending wad of genetic juice is swallowed and I had the impression that each of the quartet had played with one another a few times previously. The back cover described the scene like this: “After strutting their stuff and bearing their muff, the chicks line up to ride Thorn's rod like a mechanical bull. This guy is the man-how many dudes do you know that could pull this much tail in one night? You won't find girls this willing and able on the runway, no sir.”.

Scene Two: Our Secrets: Cindy, Michelle, Mike, Ruben, and a couple of others whose names I didn’t catch, were up next as they got drunk and engaged in carnal activities in a dorm room. The ladies were especially interested in each other but there was some decent vaginal screwing by the actively riding gals. Minus points for lack of observable pop shots but it was still decent. The back cover described the scene like this: “A couple of beers and a game of spin the bottle leads to hot girl-on-girl action and the whole room fucking like champs...one dude even eats a slice of pizza while getting head! Damn...all I gotta say that Florida has some of the wildest sons a bitches alive!”.

Scene Three: The Best Gift: A couple of coeds decide to jump the bones of the first one’s boyfriend (of four months), a hidden camera placed to showcase the antics from the bed, the mercenary attitude kind of funny in and of itself. The lead gal prepared for a month to make it happen as part of a Valentine’s Day tryst. The guy was so deadpan that I bust out laughing, the various positions leading to his population pudding going into the lead gal as a vaginal creampie (there was no evidence that he got off at all). The back cover described the scene like this: “A kinky college babe wants to give her boyfriend a very special gift for Valentines Day. So if you are a guy on Valentine's Day, what's a better surprise than getting blindfolded, led into a dorm room and getting fucked by your woman and her smoking hot best friend?”.

Scene Four: My Turn: A large group of people were playing poker in a recreational room in the final scene, the music set too loud as they drank beer, threw in chips, and otherwise enjoyed a party with eight or so people. They seemed to know one another well enough to shit talk each other, some titty play by the two bustiest gals leading to all of them wanting some action. There was an octopus beer bong and they did shots off stomachs, the giddy laughing showing their willingness to have a good time, everyone pairing off to get laid. They swapped partners at times and the majority of action included oral and vaginal, the angles not the best to show everything in the orgy but still enjoyable to watch. The back cover described the scene like this: “A poker game with house rules demanding that everybody's shirts must be off, and titties bouncing all over the place. Did I mention that the whole room explodes into a massive fuck-frenzy once everybody's clothes come off?”.

Summary: Dare Dorm #4 by Jules Jordan Video was amusing, fun to watch, and sexy in some of the scenes, meriting a rating of Recommended for those who want to see unknowns going at it in a college styled setting. The illusion of the specific scenes was not consistently solid but it gave the general appearance of impromptu action taking place, be it a bunch of strippers or just friends seeking a payday. In short, I prefer more polished and professional porn by the company but Dare Dorm #4 was a nice change of pace to check out, my appreciation that the ladies typically had enough meat to grab onto adding to my visual delight so give it a look if this is the kind of thing you might be interested in, the company website certainly having enough scenes to make it worthwhile.
