Extras: The extras included a 33:43 minute long Behind the Scenes feature where the women all showed how much fun they had being put through their paces. On a show as hardcore and limit-pushing as this one, I think such a showing is especially important to convey that the action is all role playing, though the feature itself had a lower resolution than the movie itself. There were four photogalleries, some filmographies, a cast list, a company website trailer, three Bitchcraft volumes trailers, some website links, and a 13:12 minute montage of the photoshoots for the four scenes.

Audio/Video Quality: Bitchcraft 9 was presented in 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel. Michael Kahn was credited as assisting on editing with Jake, no other technical credits provided. The composition of the shots was not always perfect, cutting off heads or otherwise framing the trysts differently than many others would do, but the lighting tended to be plentiful so even the stylish manner in which portions of the scenes were captured were generally shown fairly well. The flesh tones were slightly faded out compared to other company efforts I have reviewed of late, this being Jake’s first work for the company in some time possibly having something to do with that. In all though, most of the action was easy to discern, most quibbles over the visual elements minor in nature. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital filtered English with a 192 Kbps bitrate, the vocals appearing to be original and in synch, some music added in post production during credits and scene introductions. The aural components were fairly generic but contributed to the overall flavor of the hardcore action.

Body of Review: Jake Malone has long been associated with the fringes of porn, his desire to tackle the darker flavors of action in his own way helping him stand out over at Evil Angel. I have long had mixed feelings about some of his works but over the years came to appreciate some of what the director tried to accomplish, making heated, enthusiastic smut using some of the most capable performers of our times. After a lengthy hiatus, Jake returned to directing with Bitchcraft 9, the lesbian BDSM series among the most creative on the market back when the last installment came out two and a half years ago. This time, Jake casts hotties such as Chanel Preston, Anikka Albrite, Lily LaBeau, and others in four lengthy scenarios involving substantial role-playing, fetish attire, the pushing of personal limits, and an assortment of heated tricks. As expected, Jake fulfills the advertised promises from the company website and lives up to his reputation, just keep in mind that this kind of thing is not for everyone, pussies need not apply.

Scene One: Cindy Starfall, a lean Asian newcomer, was up first as the love slave of curvy vixen Nicki Hunter. Nicki sat in the living room as Cindy walked up the stairs, Cindy’s perky little ass shown delightfully well as her thong rode up her crack. Nicki was in charge and made Cindy dance for her, the mistress flogging her from time to time to reassert dominance. Their degree of chemistry was unclear to me but I felt they were into ladies during the scene, not doing “gay for pay” as so many of their peers seem willing to engage in.

Scene Three: Chanel Preston, a curvy bombshell with a curvy body, was up next as a therapist treating client Andy San Dimas, a brunette cutie, some new moves. Andy masturbated on a bed and otherwise teased up a storm during her introduction, Chanel providing a more self assured dynamic as she donned some skin tight apparel that contrasted sharply with Andy’s fluffy shirt and skirt. Chanel came up behind her while the girl was masturbating to scare her, covering Andy’s eyes and mouth while outlining their roles. Summary: Bitchcraft 9 by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel had some strokable footage with decent replay value thanks to an attractive cast of ladies such as Anikka Albrite, Dani Daniels, and Lily LaBeau (among others) but some of the scenarios seemed too contrived to work to their fullest advantage, the production as a whole incorporating solid extras and modest technical values to merit a rating of Recommended. In short then, Bitchcraft 9 was an interesting selection of four lesbian scenes using some fine talent and director Jake Malone’s discerning eye to fuel the spank banks of fans clamoring for his return to the porn arena, hopefully seeing more projects allowing his perverted visions to be made in short order.
