Extra's: The best extra was the 18 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that used deleted footage from the movie. While some of it was thankfully edited from the movie (poor angles, audio, or lighting most of the time), I was happy that the extra sex was often interesting and added some fun. There were some trailers, a photogallery, and a lot of commercials as well but that was it.

Audio/Video Quality: Seymore Butts' Happy Fucking Birthday was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Seymore Butts for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies, to be distributed by Pure Play Media. While his works have often been technically limited in terms of lighting, grain, and other visual flaws, he wisely focuses less on technical matters to concentrate his efforts on providing the kind of raw energy that far too few pornos have these days. This DVD looked similar to past efforts of his, with some minor lighting and grain issues as much as anything else but it didn't look bad at all. The composition of the scenes varied less than in other recent Seymore movies, making the women look pretty good, if not their very best. While I don't believe the action is unscripted as the movie tries to show, it suggests this makes it all look "real" as in unstaged or as if Seymore mindlessly walks into the scenes but we all know better and that detracts from the otherwise fun sex he offers up. There were no observed compression artifacts so at least the DVD mastering was solid. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track was okay with no separation between the channels and limited dynamic range; much like other gonzo releases these days.

Body of Review: Pussy Party 15 last year reminded me that porn stars like celebrating their birthdays on camera as much as the rest of us so it came as no surprise that Seymore Butts used the idea for another of his company's (Seymore Butts Home Movies) flicks, Seymore Butts' Happy Fucking Birthday. Granted, Seymore has done this in the past as well but this time the lucky birthday boy was Tom Byron, the legend himself, who got to share the pleasures of three of the leading ladies of porn as a present (note to Seymore, my birthday is coming up in a few weeks). In any case, the theme of the first scene aside, the other scenes were strictly generic bits with the usual anal sex but nothing tying them to the movie and often underwhelming in terms of what took place. If you're still interested, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and that Seymore stayed out of the sex yet again:

Scene One: Flower Tucci, the hotty featured on the center of the front DVD cover, was up first as she masturbated to some old porn by Seymore with one of her glass dildos on the bed. Summary: Seymore Butts' Happy Fucking Birthday by director Seymore Butts for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies wasn't a bad movie and could be said to have a fair amount of anal fuck for the buck. The extras were minimal and some of the cast appeared to be second stringers but the fun factor and raw energy of some of the action outweighed the technical flaws found in the scenes. For me then, Seymore Butts' Happy Fucking Birthday was strictly a Rent It but I know some of you fans love everything the guy touches and this title wasn't far from his usual body of work so adjust the rating accordingly.
