I am very pleased with the beautiful and/or unique locations used for the scenes (even older homes that are more "realistic" than the mansions used in most high-end porn productions and, believe it or not, a travel trailer!), how well the locations and sets are utilized (Kelly and Ryan use multiple sets within their locations and don't confine the action to a single couch or bed), the obvious attention paid to make-up, wardrobe, and hairstyles, and even the music that accompanies all or part of the scenes. The best thing about Porn Star Brides, however, is the storylines. In one case, a bride is inexplicably despondent and tries to commit suicide. Her groom saves her life...not with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, but with mouth-to-pussy resuscitation!

Kelly and Ryan also choose first-class girls for their scenes. The lighting is often insufficient (which causes unwanted "grain" in the digital image), the camera operator moves too freaking much and turns the camera to oblique angles too often, the focus is often incorrect, the editing is amateurish (leaving out transitions between sexual positions), and the color balance is often off (sometimes too yellow, other times too magenta). Here's some advice for camera operators: 1) learn how to light your scenes; 2) learn how to manually set white balance; 3) don't move too much, and move the camera smoothly when you do; 4) don't turn the camera to oblique angles (in what other genre of movie making do you see images turned this way and that so that the people look like they're ready to slide off the screen?). The substandard video is the primary reason that this movie only scored an overall "rent it" rating. 

In addition, I simply must comment about Ryan's performance. Ryan, you've never (at least on camera) pleased a woman better than Tanya James in Scene One. In particular, your cunnilingus action in that scene is beyond unbelievable. So, why didn't you eat out the other three girls? Didn't you think they'd be tasty? I know that, if given the chance, I'd gobble Claire's pierced vagina for hours, suckle Shayla's legendary clit repeatedly, and tongue-fuck Renae's pussy until my face was covered in her girl juice. The DVD-9 disc I reviewed contains a still-frame chapter selector, multiple chapters per scene, an advertisement for pornfidelity.com and kellymadison.com, trailers for forthcoming movies, a nearly ten-minute-long self-running slide show accompanied by wedding music, a second two-and-one-half-minute slide show of behind-the-scenes still shots, and a 20-minute behind-the-scenes (BTS) video featurette. The BTS features footage of makeup, wardrobe, and hairstyling; impromptu on-set interviews of the girls; lots of footage of naked (or nearly-naked) girls showing off their magnificent tits and heart-stopping bodies; video of the still-photo shoots; behind-the-camera shots of the action being filmed; and after-sex debriefings. This selection of extras is about average in today's marketplace. Three stars.

Final Thoughts

The best things about Porn Star Brides 4 include:

• Scene One. Tanya and Ryan provide the best boy/girl coupling I've seen so far in 2010. Their connection is deep, primal, and immensely satisfying.
• the female cast. Tanya James is an exquisite hard-bodied and nicely-sculpted blond; Claire is voluptuous and cuddly; Renae is hot, spicy, and oh-so-enthusiastic; and Shayla is, well, an absolute legend.
• the scenarios. You'd think that Ryan and Kelly Madison would run out of bride-related scenarios. Not so. Each storyline is unique and creative. Good job.
• the production values, including locations, sets, make-up, wardrobe, hairstyling, and, in most cases, music.
• the acting. Tanya deserves kudos for her wordless portrayal of a suicidal bride while Shayla, Claire, and Renae all play their roles, including monologs and dialogs, to a tee.

Porn Star Brides 4 could have been better if:

• more thought and attention had been paid to the video. I repeat the advice I gave camera operators above in the Synopsis: 1) learn how to light your scenes; 2) learn how to manually set white balance; 3) don't move too much, and move the camera smoothly when you do; 4) don't turn the camera to oblique angles (in what other genre of moviemaking do you see images turned this way and that so that the people look like they're ready to slide off the screen?).
• the audio had been better captured. I assume that camera-mounted microphones were used. As a result, the audio level varies greatly depending upon how far away the camera and performers are from each other.
• there had been at least a little attention paid to the girls' assholes.
• the editor had provided transitioning footage between sexual positions.

Things I didn't like about Porn Star Brides 4 include:

• the unconscionable lack of cunnilingus in three of the four scenes. Pussy eating is an essential part of sex and should never be eliminated from a sex scene.
