Extra's: The best extra was the 12.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature although it focused almost completely on Cytherea, Jamie Elle and Joey Ray. There was also a bit by Sunny Lane and Mark Davis and some minor footage of make up artist/performer Alaura Eden but the feature lacked balance as the other gals might've been interesting to see too. There was also a set of trailers, a photogallery, and a double sided DVD cover for those who care.

Audio/Video Quality: Planting Seeds 2 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Mike Metropolis for Smash Pictures. My previous experience with the director was when he worked for Devil's Films and his general skill at directing seems to have improved slightly as the picture was pretty well lit, had little grain, and only some pattern noise when watched at regular speed. The composition of the camera angles weren't always enhancing to the women but he did a solid job on the visuals if you look at the average of the factors discussed. I saw no compression artifacts when watching the show and only a touch of video noise to interfere so the DVD mastering was handled well enough too. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English but a cursory check with headphones yielded no detection of separation between the channels and the dynamic range was slightly below average with numerous background noises left unchecked in the editing bay.

Body of Review: Mike Metropolis is one of those directors you don't hear much about these days since he's worked for a couple of low end companies and been made to handle what are often considered fetish movies involving semen. Now that he's working at Smash Pictures, perhaps he'll pick up some tips from the infamous Jimmy D. but he's always shown some potential in terms of visual presentation. His latest effort in this regard is Planting Seeds 2, a set of five creampie scenes with an appealing cast of ladies that are known for heated sexual performances. The advertising on the front cover suggests that there were "4 internal creampies" (all creampies are internal so that's a no-brainer) which I think they meant vaginal in nature, "2 anal creampies" which were gross (you can read why later on) and a "2 on 1 cream pie-fest with squirting" (meaning one of the scenes had two gals involved, one of them a urination addict). I found the advertising to be accurate since the also advertised "100% creampies" meant each scene had one and that seemed to be the truth as no edits were done just before the proof came leaking out of the gal's holes. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and actions, noting that no condoms were used (of course) and some of the scenes were very good:

Scene One: Sunny Lane, the hotty on the front DVD cover that has been setting the world on fire with her heated performances, started off the scene wearing a form fitting red dress that I could practically see through as she walked up to a luxurious home where Mark Davis was staying. She entertained him with some solid teasing that showed off her great ass and powerful legs along with her all natural breasts in the living room. Scene Two: Cytherea, the gal that popularized urinating in porn by calling it "squirting", joined cutie Jamie Elle and manly Joey Ray for the second scene of the movie inside the large house. Initially, the gals engaged in some lesbian antics while dressed in lingerie as they climbed the marble staircase but Joey didn't want to see their efforts go to waste so he offered them a meaty substitute that they enjoyed all the more. Summary: Planting Seeds 2 had three well done scenes and two that fell far short of the mark needed to compete in modern porn. The director did a decent job but still has a way to go before he will be considered prime directing talent but he's at a good company to learn those important skills and I suspect he'll be noticeably better in the near future. There was a fair amount of fuck for the buck although the extras were limited and also in need of some polishing up. I gave the DVD a rating of Rent It since the weaker scenes were some limited and the extras were so lame but I can see where less discriminating folks might think better of it, especially if they enjoy watching men lick up their own semen. I think it showed that Mike Metropolis had potential though and I hope to see if he builds up to it in the near future.
