Extra's: Most of you will like the five unrelated bonus scenes as extras the most. They were Mind Games with Sky and TT Boy, Obsession with Kira Kenner and Devin Wolf, (and the three outlined below) The End Game with Briana Banks and Rick Patrick, Star with Stefani Morgan and Trent Tesoro, and Wife Swappers with Monique Alexander and Trent Tesoro. Sadly, there was no Behind the Scenes feature but there was a short text biography for Stefani Morgan, a couple of photogalleries, trailers to movies like Open Set, spam, and a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Le Kink was presented in a letterboxed 1.85:1 ratio as shot by director Hank Hoffman for release by Vivid Entertainment. The lighting was pretty good and that helped limit the grain, video noise, and shadows of the four scenes as well as provide some fairly accurate fleshtones from the cast. The composition of the shots left something to be desired though, chopping off heads, showing the various flaws of the performers, and not quite getting the best angle to truly capture the scenes at their best (I think Hank is best known for his BTS work and perhaps that is part of the problem in this regard). It wasn't exactly poorly shot but it did look like more practice was needed by the guy to bring out the best in the cast compared to his peers at the company. The DVD itself was okay looking with no compression artifacts or moiré observed so at least the mastering of the project was decent, even if a widescreen anamorphic approach would have looked substantially superior. The audio was presented in the expected 2.0 Dolby Digital English with little separation between the channels and no dynamic range worth noting. The music overlapped the vocals in many cases, weakening both; an area in great need of improvement also.

Body of Review: Hank Hoffman is not one of the household names in porn direction at this writing and his recent work at Vivid Entertainment is unlikely to change that fact. Still, if he's the same guy that makes those enjoyable BTS features for the company, I suspect it will only be a matter of time before he evolves into a decent director via the company training program. His latest attempt at heat is Le Kink, a set of four unrelated vignettes that use a light (very light) bondage theme to spice things up a bit, with mixed results. The box cover put it like this: "Hank Hoffman presents "Le Kink", documenting five couples in the throes of sadomasochism. See Vivid's hottest new superstar, Stefani Morgan, tied up for the first time. And co-star, Roxy Jezel, in all-anal boy/girl and girl/girl scenes! It all climaxes in a domination dungeon of depravity! Go ahead... work out "Le Kinks"..." If you're still interested, here's a quick look at the scenes, noting that a condom was used on Stefani but it was the only one:

Scene One: Dana DeArmond, a very attractive gal with pale skin that I last saw in Chemistry, was up first as she dominated Jack Lawrence in the bed of Kylie Ireland's loft (at least it looked like that one; I couldn't see the notches I left there years ago (kidding!). As a darling of the alt-porn craze as much as a fetish model, the situation suited her perfectly as she ran the spur along his sensitive areas, relishing the control she had over his cock, balls, and life in general. She provided the kind of alternating sensations of pleasure and pain that work best in those situations but the blindfold and handcuffs minimized his ability to do much about it. Scene Four: Stefani Morgan, Roxy Jezel, Trent Tesoro, and Christian, were up last on the main floor of the dungeon with the ladies taking opposing positions in the dynamic. Stefani was submissive to Trent while Christian was submissive to Roxy at first, with a fair amount of oral and light bondage on hand as the two subbies were stuck in one of the hanging cages together while the other two made out. Bonus Scene 1: The End Game: Briana Banks, the hot blonde Vivid contract star on the front DVD cover, was up first in a bedroom scene with studly Rick Patrick (formerly Rick Roberts). She looked really appealing to me although I still maintain that she could gain about 25 pounds and look better. She's been dancing on the road for months and the end result is that she was looking more toned than she has in a while so her fans can rejoice that she was at her best here. The scene itself seemed to show some serious chemistry between the couple and she energetically slobbed his knob before riding him in her pussy and ass. The anal showed her coming to terms with her sexuality as I think she did a better job with it here than anywhere else I've seen her, ending with a facial as he spewed his load . In all, it was a great way to start the movie and more than I hoped for after reading the "visionary new director" label on the front DVD cover.

Bonus Scene 2: Star: Stefani Morgan, the all natural cover cutie in her first adult starring role, played a not-so innocent young lady in a scene where she seduced boyfriend Trent Tesoro out of the bathroom and into the living room for some heated fun. They did the oral with straight action and aside from some shadows due to no fill lighting, she looked better here than before (and much better than in her other releases for Vivid). With a little more practice with guys, she has the potential to really shine in porn so I can see why Vivid would sign her to an exclusive contract.

Summary: Le Kink by Hank Hoffman for Vivid Entertainment was not a complete waste of time. The ladies looked good and Dana DeArmond at least appeared to have a slight working knowledge of what works thematically in this kind of show. I'm sure Roxy was held back given her previous work and the rest of the movie was a series of mediocre attempts to handle a formula that simply couldn't work. Stefani's vaunted beauty couldn't save this one, nor could the limited highlights but I suspect that director Hank will do a better job next time, even though I thought Le Kink was one for the Skip It pile. I could be mean and say that Le Kink was Le Lame or Le Boring but suffice it to say that it didn't live up to the advertised action and suffered as a result.
