Extra's: One of the areas that Evil Angel tends to shine would be in the extras department. This DVD, for example, had 39.5 minutes of bonus footage attached to it that the tape version (why do they waste time with tape these days?) didn't have. While not all of the extra footage was stellar, it was pretty good in most cases and better than a lot of so-called competitors offer in their main movies. The extras also included the usual biography of Rocco Siffredi, a couple of filmographies, a pop shot compilation from the movie, a photogallery, and a cast list although none of those were even close to as value as the footage (admittedly, the cast list sure helped me review the movie, as always).

Audio/Video Quality: Rocco Meats The Princess was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that Rocco has long shot his movies in. Much like Rocco Meats Suzie, the technical values were kind of weak at times, with grain, compositional weaknesses, and lighting problems but Rocco's fans have long suffered through the home movie approach of some of his work (saying at times that it made it look more "real" to me) so you know what to expect here if you've watched his other releases in recent years. The audio was presented in stereo English and was simple on many levels as well but generally easy to hear and the music was paid more attention to this time.

Body of Review: Rocco Siffredi has long been a leader in gonzo porn, both as a performer and then as a director. It's sometimes difficult describing what his appeal is since it can be so fleeting in nature and he changes personas so often these days. In recent years, he's taken to finding new gals to plunder and like he did in Rocco Meats Suzie, the guy seems to focus more on a single "star" in his movies than he ever did before. His latest effort was Rocco Meats The Princess, a movie with a Cinderella twist, and while I wanted to like it, I was left hanging all too often by the scenes. Rather than fuss about it in generalities, here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, probably too briefly for purists but those without an axe to grind will understand where I'm going with it:

Scene One: Niky, an okay looking gal with light hair, and Kerol, a librarian type of gal with reddish hair and larger than average breasts, were first up with the studly Rocco after meeting with him in a large house in the countryside. The main draw of the scene was the initial playfulness of the gals more than the eventual anal that everyone knew would take place. There was oral and vaginal sex too (of course) and fans of gals that look far less professional will probably get off here although the sexual skill of the performers was kind of weak to me.

Scene Two: Chiara, Niky, Kerol, Roly, and Rocco were up next in something of a continuation of the first scene. Chiara wasn't any better looking to me and her initial comments about his dick being too big (that were echoed in the Behind the Scenes footage) made it clear that she was not into what was supposed to take place. The oral and vaginal went okay but it bottomed out (pun intended) rather quickly and I can't say that I blamed her for leaving so soon. In a sense, it lent an air of authenticity to the scene although I kind of doubt that was intended based on Rocco's usual releases.

Scene Three: Mandy and Tanja, both a bit more like regular Rocco performers with curvy breasts and a willingness to do anything they were called on to do, took care of Rocco after he practically tore off their clothes. By this point, I noticed that all the gals in the movie looked far, far better on the front DVD cover than they did in the movie and I'm guessing that was not an accident. There was a lot of playfulness here too (certainly more than scene two) and the gals were as skilled as any you'd find working a corner in Prague, but they simply weren't up to the high standard set by Rocco's past efforts and it quickly showed. I don't mean to dog them out but when paying premium prices, consumers want either very attractive gals or great sexual ability (if not both) and this batch didn't have either going for it.

Scene Four: Yvonne, Mandy and Tanja, were up next in a decent scene (finally!) that had them doing all the usual porn tricks in a game room that included a pretty cheap pool table. Kevin and JJ were the lucky studs and the sex included lots of oral, vaginal, anal and DP although not all the gals participated as fully as others. This was the biggest weakness of the scene as one gal would get busy, the other two would basically wait around rather than join in or do one another. I don't see that amateur mistake taking place much in domestic porn these days (it used to happen a lot more frequently) and if the fake screams of European gals works for you, so be it but it should've been much better.

Scene Five: Yvonne, an all natural gal with an okay face and nice head of hair (it really did look great), finally got her chance to shine by herself with Rocco in a simple little bedroom. The tease footage was less graphic and the setting somehow intriguing as it wasn't nearly as cluttered as the others (elegance through simplicity I guess) and it was clear that Rocco designed the movie around this scene and this scene alone. The music was romantic and she fit the role of Princess nicely although I'd have done something with a glass slipper or at least a royal outfit of some kind since I've seen dozens of gals that were more deserving of the title than she was. Rocco appeared to connect with her though and that made the sex seem better as they spent their time pleasing one another thoroughly. There was a lot of oral and some solid anal this time but the scene was not even close to saving the movie from the weaknesses of the other scenes (and I'm a huge fan of Rocco's movies).

Summary: Rocco Meats The Princess was a far cry from his usual works and I felt obligated to rate it as, gasp, a Skip It. I know this comes as a surprise from someone who always seems to be kissing up to Rocco (and Evil Angel) but the type of heated, passionate sex with hot looking women simply wasn't present in this movie and that's a shame for a premium priced release from one of the best companies in all of porn. The technical deficiencies could be overlooked and the cast might've been acceptable if better at what they did but to completely strike out on looks, talent and technical matters is a ball busting bummer. Check it out if you like but don't say I didn't warn you.
