Audio/Video Quality: Bikini Banger 2 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director Dave Pounder (and his lovely assistant Amber) for distribution by Lava Releasing. I got the impression that the show was designed to emulate a home movie or Pro-Am shoot more than look professionally recorded and on that note; it succeeded. There was a fair amount of grain, weak lighting, and a whole lot of camera movement (making the show look as though it were shot on a boat on the high seas at times). For some of you, this will lend an air of authenticity to the proceedings but I wasn't fond of it (and I like Dave). The fleshtones were accurate enough and the composition of the shots was marred by too many close ups (they don't work with a camera bouncing around, trust me) but at least there were no compression artifacts. The audio was presented in stereo English but sounded hollow and had limited dynamic range.

Body of Review: Dave Pounder has long been an enigma of sorts in porn, always trying to chase a slightly different path to success than many of his peers. The guy is a bit like a man stuck in college mode, calling everyone "dude" (including women), although that might appeal to others who want to relive their glory days of higher education. His latest release on DVD is Bikini Banger 2, a show much like the infamous Jack's Playground series although instead of trying to recruit gals using music video jobs as a draw, Dave uses bikini modeling spots in a fictional magazine. I'm not going to claim the idea is a straight forward copy of the Digital Playground series since I've seen the theme used dozens of times over the years (since the early 1980's) but that best describes it if you also remember the budget is far lower. Would this appeal to you? That's a question only you can answer since the gals were chosen to look like they were amateurs (most were well known in porn) but it was cute in a limited way. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting it was all very much alike and that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Juliana Kincaid, the light haired gal on the center of the front DVD cover, was up first wearing a pink top and blue jeans. She questioned the authenticity of the so-called modeling agency and acted shy as part of the skit but stripped her clothes off nonetheless. Dave Pounder was the male lead (as in all the scenes) and the idea of the scene was for him to scam the gals as though they were stupid. It took about 10 minutes for her to put his dick in her mouth and blow him (an eternity). This was soon followed by the two screwing vaginally in what almost came off as a pro-am scene. Yeah, it was lame but she was cuter than she looked on the front DVD cover and it ended when she took the facial.

Scene Two: Gen Padova, the gal on the lower half of the front DVD cover, has been in porn for years but still seems to generate some heat in her scenes. She is not what you'd call a major hotty but she likes sex and appeals to the girl next door lovers out there. Her all natural body convinced Dave Pounder to go down on her once they got back inside the house and he was boning her soon after they did some 69 with one another. It was a basic scene in most ways with a standard pop shot.

Scene Three: Cherry Lane, a fan favorite with a curvy body and cute face, was up next with good old Dave Pounder as she auditioned for the bikini contest. She's added a few pounds since I last saw her all natural body but they looked good on her. The scene progressed as expected with all the usual oral and vaginal antics but she seemed to enjoy it more than the previous two gals did. She actively rode his cock on the bed and didn't let up until she milked him dry. The pop shot was again a facial but he mostly missed her, leaving a long stream across her face while she teased his penis.

Scene Four: Darien Ross, a light haired gal as shown on the upper right hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next as Dave Pounder tried to coax her into modeling while she sunned herself by the pool. She looked older than the other gals (it may have been how much sun she had been getting as it amplifies the stretch marks) but seemed a nice match for Dave as she toyed with him in her small bikini. She took charge of the action but it went like the others with her showing some practiced oral before they boned. She was admittedly a good cocksucker and some of you will enjoy that she left her bikini on while they screwed. He did most of the work though so it really wasn't anything special for me.

Scene Five: Lara Ann, the brunette on the upper left hand side of the front DVD cover, was up last and had the responsibility of elevating the heat enough to make me rate the DVD high enough to recommend. The others had been kind of tame for the most part although there was a slight bit of spark for those who like the hard to get acts they put on. Dave Pounder convinced her to go back to his place and she claimed to be 25 years old (she looked like it and the truth in advertising angle was a nice change of pace). While I'd have bought her a few drinks and taken her home, she was yet another generic performer here with the oral and vaginal sex done much like a long term girlfriend would offer you. She didn't look too happy with the eye shot though.

Summary: Bikini Banger 2 might appeal to some of you more than it did to me. The gals were not top flight hotties, the action was mechanical in most cases, and there were no real extras to speak of. I'm not one to require anal sex in a show for it to get a decent rating but many of you reading this are such people so that would drive a stake in it for y'all even more so than the generic sex that took place. As much as I think Dave has some potential to make the series more interesting, this wasn't the volume to show it so I rated it as a Skip It for anyone that doesn't fall into the categories I listed above. Low budget porn can work for me (it has in the past) but only when handled properly and this wasn't one of those times.
