Extras: The best extra was the 19:07 minute long Bonus scene starring hotty Jenna Haze herself in a solo masturbation act, removing her colorful bikini to vibrate herself to a few orgasms. Then came a 40:49 minute long Behind the Scenes feature where the cast and crew (again including my favorite busty makeup gal Nichole DD as Nichole Bennett) all prepared for the scenes. There was a pop shot recap, a photogallery, and a helpful cast list as well, all of the extras located on the second disc.

Audio/Video Quality: Meow! was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an approximate aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Jenna Haze for Jules Jordan Video using the MPEG-2 encoding and 480i resolution you would expect of a standard definition title. In order to allow her to participate in most scenes, Jenna hired Van Styles to work the camera and handle the majority of technical matters, infusing her own ideas with his expertise for this fourth effort that admittedly had some rough edges but was pleasing sexually. The lighting was flat and even most of the time (there were fewer attempts at "style" this time, allowing Jenna and friends to really shine better and brighter), still better than that which you'll find in most gonzo porn and topping a few of Van's recent efforts elsewhere. There was little grain and the fleshtones were even better this time making me think that the HD picture might look even better on one of the newer high resolution formats, but only by a small margin given the look of the ladies thanks to his fine work shooting the scenes (Van Styles also on the editing board here) with the bitrate coming in under the 4.6 Mbps rate most of the time. The composition of the shots was such that the ladies were made to look as good but I really did not think the movie was as polished looking as his own works these days, invoking a different look most of the time despite his dominance on the technical aspects of the movie. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English (192 Kbps bitrate with a 48 kHz sampling rate) but there was no separation between the channels and the vocals were on the low side in all but a few circumstances.

Body of Review: Jenna Haze has had one of the most well rounded performing careers of a modern woman, doing extreme gonzo and lipstick lesbian with equal flair over the years. While many thought her career was finished when she went lesbian only under contract to a now-defunct label, she picked herself up, brushed herself off, and went right back to work securing the loads of many thousands of men and women jerking off to her scenes, her latest releases as a director distributed by Jules Jordan Video even showing a whole new side to the cutie. Her latest release as a director would be Meow! Special Edition, the movie providing seven scenes with a bonus solo scenes for good measure, all containing pairs of attractive ladies getting each other off without the assistance of men dropping loads of genetic juice all over them as we're used to these days. While some of the pairings were sheer genius in terms of how much chemistry and passion were put forth on display, even the weakest such scene was well worth rubbing out some population pudding so fans of Jenna and lesbian action will not want to miss this one. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Carmen McCarthy and Sophia Santi

Scene One: Jenna Haze, the sexy little babe featured in green lingerie on the lower left corner of the front cover, was up first with former contract starlet Monique Alexander, the gal featured in similar pink lingerie on the lower right corner. Their garish makeup aside, both ladies looked dressed to the hilt, a short tease bringing them together on a large white couch where they kissed at length. The camerawork by Van caught a lot of booty shots and each gave the other some half hearted spanks before chowing down on each other. The aural encouragement was a nice touch too, each purring as though they were getting off in the chemistry filled tryst. I liked it but found the concluding edit to be a bit on the abrupt side, an issue that comes up when discussing lesbian scenes that are more naturalized than the over the top moaners provide.

Scene Two: Faye Reagan and Dani Jensen, the healthy looking lasses shown on the middle of the front cover (under the title), were up next on a large bed wearing olden style lingerie, their large feather used to caress ever so slightly. While sexually the action was similar to the other scenes, their chemistry was pleasingly high and the camerawork offered up a lot of medium to long shots that complimented the ladies more than I would have otherwise guessed. The appearance of discovery by the two as they did each other orally and with fingers also lent an air of authenticity as though they were not repeated partners but rather appreciating each other for the first time. If you like lean and attractive gals doing each other like they are into it, this will provide some seriously strokable action for you too (except those that hate choking as some did take place here).

Zoe Britton and Karlie Montana

Scene Three: Charmane Star, a hotty I haven't seen in a flick in awhile (I ran into her at an AEE show a few years back but that's it), was up next lounging around waiting on cutie Jenna Haze, the pair seen on the middle of the left side of the cover. Their high end hooker lingerie was appealing and Jenna took the dominating spot here, blindfolding Charmane before kneeling beside her to lightly tease the gal with caresses. While their chemistry was inconsistent in my eyes, they were seductively passionate about the oral and fingering, the camera getting closer as time progressed but still offering a wealth of visual options. Jenna provided most of the dirty talk too, forwarding the scene to add some replay value even if the sparse setting on a black leather bench with backdrops did little to help (their lingerie stayed on the entire scene and it matched in color, weakening some of the visual appeal).

Scene Four: Sophia Santi, the sexy former contract gal at DP, was up next with curvy babe Carmen McCarthy, in a humorous scene that progressed over a few days. Sophia was cool and reserved, withholding her approval of submissive Carmen until they were at the dining room table where the oral hijinks ensued, some extensive titty play leading to the usual tricks found elsewhere in the fuck flick. Rather than offer a lot of personal chemistry, this scene centered on the ladies truly performing, a nice change of pace though it would have been the kiss of death had all the scenes taken this approach. The oral and fingering, the face sitting and titty play, and the other acts were covered just fine by the couple who rarely looked at the camera (thankfully).

Scene Five: Capri Anderson and Jenna Haze were up next as the first scene on the second disc, both gals prancing around in lingerie in a room with a mirrored wine holder wall on one side while ugly red art was on the other. Capri put on the initial tease show by stripping, the rough edges reminding me of others in the jizz biz before they learned how to work their curves very well. She looked at the camera a lot and the contrast between her tease and Jenna's was night and day different, Jenna providing a sultrier manner in her red dress (though it was a lot shorter too). They settled on the couch where they went down on each other, the limited bag of tricks the ladies engaged in working better if not watching the whole movie at once. Jenna's ass looked as spectacular as ever too, rubbing on Capri as she moaned in an over the top aural experience. Their personal chemistry was questionable but it was another strokable scene to add to your collection.

Scene Six: Karlie Montana and Zoe Britton, two of the finest pieces of ass in the entire movie due to their looks and curves, were up next as they danced around together in a plain house. One look at their picture on the upper left hand corner of the cover will tell you if they will appeal to your needs but the closer the camera came, the hotter they looked, their tease followed by a short interview where they almost interested Jenna enough to join in the bed with them. The dresses they wore were far too baggy to bring out the best in them but once they came off, the scene sizzled with true chemistry and enthusiasm. The oral did not focus as much on just eating out pussy either, their playfulness working wonders for my thought to be spent libido.

Scene Seven: Jenna Haze and Sophia Santi then closed things up with a role playing scene showing Sophia in charge of the diminutive director, slapping her around a bit, choking her, and generally roughing her up in the house. Both wore leather straps as their primary costume, Sophia's boots setting her apart as they provided some additional height. They ended up on the patterned couch where the domination continued, Jenna' looking tighter than Sophia (who appears to be getting a touch more "womanly" as it were) but both going down and fingering each other aggressively. I'm sure this will be pushed by some as the best scene of the show and while it did not meet that degree of chemistry, heat, and passion, I'd be misleading you to suggest it was anything other than a great way to finish off the double disc movie. Both ladies gave the impression they liked women and both performed to specification here more than usual, it was just that some of the previous scenes seemed less forced and manufactured but regardless of all that, it was a hot to trot pairing focusing again on oral and manual play.

Summary: Meow! by director Jenna Haze for Jules Jordan Video was clearly one of her best offerings to date, meriting a rating of Highly Recommended for all that it offered and advertised itself to be. The replay value, strokability, and chemistry between most of the performers will give this one legs in your collections, the technical aspects still a touch more on the rough & unpolished side than I prefer but well within the realm of lesbian flicks. That said, if you want plenty of lesbian fuck for the buck, including solid extras, you will appreciate Meow! Special Edition more than a little bit, Jenna's rise as a gonzo director not seamless but proving her input can shape a movie quite nicely.
