Extras: The only real extras were the photogallery, pop shot recap, trailers, and some spam but skipping the advertised “positions menu” material included for those that care (a “special offer” link included too). I hated the forced commercials though, skipping them with my remote as needed.

Audio/Video Quality: Brand New Faces #45 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. The visuals and audio were both decent, the amount of lighting and limited camera movement helping capture the ladies at their best. The editing did not seem intrusive most of the time and I could hear the vocals just fine, some whispered dirty talk helping a few scenes to stand out from the pack. In all, the technical qualities of the production were largely the same as ever which is a good thing in most ways, the bulk of footage shot competently.

Body of Review: B. Skow had been the lead director at Vivid Entertainment for a few years before starting his own award winning company, venturing into all sorts of darker material for those who cared to follow. Before he left, Vivid stashed away a lot of works and his latest in for review is called Brand New Faces #45, this time using a few young ladies that actually went on to shoot more scenes (my favorite type of performer in the series since I get to see how much they progress). The ladies included the amazing Chanel Preston, perky Samantha Faye, Lucy Lamay, Ariel Katz, and a gal named Mischa; each allowed plenty of time to show off in their first scene. The premise of the series is simple in that Skow shot a lot of women in their first recorded sex scenes for the company website, the DVD series compiling the lengthy trysts where the starting interview allows fans to get to know the ladies, they then masturbate and have sex (usually with a man); the series even including a guarantee of your money back. Here’s a very brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Ariel Katz, a lean girl next door with long hair, was up first in a muted red dress, walked around a contemporary bedroom rather than the usual studio. She was paired up with James Deen, sort of a surprise male talent given the usual level of mope deployed. She was more aggressive about giving head than he was but she was a mostly passive vaginal rider, a pronounced layer change (or something) during the scene requiring me to restart the DVD part way through the action. She was most active in the cowgirl variations though, finally putting some effort into her tryst before some slapping led to a hand assisted nutting in her mouth and on her face as she maintained her solid eye contact. Summary: Brand New Faces #45 by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment earned a rating of Rent It. Chanel Preston, one of the strongest existing performers, showed lots of potential here yet was a far cry from the sexual dynamo she has become since this was shot, Samantha Faye looked as cute as ever and was not half bad as a performer, and the other three ladies were as advertised in their first scenes as well, albeit not as memorable as the others mentioned. In short, Brand New Faces #45 continued showcasing newcomers as expected. Still, for Chanel Preston’s first scene alone you’ll want to peek in here, my long held belief being that fans would prefer compilations of top performers that started in the series over throwing some random ladies in a group but check it out to see for yourselves.
