Extras: My favorite extra was the 14.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature since it was made for the movie and had some great material; including sex, nudity and comments by the director that were hilarious as to how uptight he got about everything (fussing that replacement performers Julie Knight and Kelly Wells weren't what was ordered and comparing them to his grandmother was in bad taste, and simply mean spirited. There were also a couple of bonus scenes from other movies: a 15.5 minute long bonus scene from Bluelight starring Haley Paige and Chris Cannon as described below and a 17 minute long bonus scene from Flesh Gallery starring Sandra Romain and Lee Stone. There was also a photogallery, some web info and trailers to movies like The Contractor and University of Austyn.

Audio/Video Quality: The More the Merrier was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Roy Karch for Adam & Eve. I'm more familiar with his work at Sex Z Pictures lately and to be frank about it, he's made some good porn in the past but seems to suffer greatly when the budgets are as low as most porn shot these days is applied to his style. The bare bones porn shooting he does rarely conveys any heat and the sole difference this time is that he got to work with Carmen Luvana, an industry favorite, instead of the generic third stringers his budgets afford. If given more time and money, his work improves tremendously but that wasn't the case here with reddish lighting, grain, and a lack of relative detail to the picture. The editing lacked any rhythm and the composition of the shots was not typically favorable to making the ladies look their best in any of the scenes. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English with the vocals secondary to the thumping music that started off each scene. It wasn't a terrible track but it sounded almost like an afterthought with the echoes on the vocals due to the cavernous set used with the brick walls reflecting the voices harshly.

Body of Review: As a guy that likes seeing performer Carmen Luvana in all that she does, I sometimes have to put up with weaker efforts when a producer decides to trim too many corners. This was apparently the case with The More the Merrier, a set of vignettes with two scenes by the Porto Rican cutie as directed by industry veteran Roy Karch. When Roy is hitting on all cylinders, he can do a fine job but when he isn't, the work suffers greatly, and quickly, as a result. The sex was largely generic, the scenes were too short, and the extras were tossed on to replace what should have been space devoted to all new material. In short, I felt Ms. Luvana was cheated as were her fans since the mechanical action of the scenes was far from her better work. Still, there were some brief highlights that'll make the movie worth checking out, though I wanted to take Roy up on his offer about throwing him off the roof (about 5 minutes into the BTS feature). Here's a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that some condom use was present:

Scene One: Carmen Luvana, Carmen Hart, and Sunny Lane, all the major hotties gracing the front DVD cover, were up first in a heated lesbian scene. Sunny stripped on a table when the other two walked in on her, all wearing the same outfits as they did on the cover, with Sunny providing the "food" for them to eat with a "dinner is served" comment as she spread her legs. Sunny was flexible as Carmen Hart held her legs back for Carmen Luvana to snack on. The reddish tint on the lighting was a pain, as was the thumping music, but all three of these gals are top pick pussy worth watching in all that they do. My only caveat about the action was how they three seemed a bit standoffish at times, as though following directions from off camera. Still, all three of them looked hot and were worth checking out.

Scene Two: Kelly "Fuckin" Wells, one of the extreme queens of porn, began the following scene by masturbating on the couch as though she were getting off. She's not as cute as the last trio but in terms of sexual performances, especially the gonzo style sex many fans enjoy, there was no one in the movie that could touch her with the possible exception of scene partner Julie Knight. Julie entered in after the massive Lee Stone started working on Kelly, providing her with a dick to suck. Kelly was in charge and Julie was submissive with the only downside being Kelly's whooping on occasion. The ladies actively rode cock in their vaginas, sucked cock, and ate pussy; getting very hot and sweaty in the process. Thankfully, the music died down and the trio did each other, with Kelly not being as active when Julie was taking the bone for her own (and the pop shot to the couch and boot was weak, even if Kelly did clean it up and swap a drop or two).

Summary: The More the Merrier had neither more nor merriment in any significant quantities, making it a shameful waste of the cast. The two Carmen's, Sunny, Julie and others were not allowed to play to their relative strengths, weakening the movie in the process. I have no axe to grind with director Roy Karch but his movies in the last few years (with a couple of notable exceptions) look almost bargain basement quality with little quality control applied to them and this one was no exception. I'm giving the DVD a rating of Skip It largely because it failed on so many levels to live up to the cast's potential but fans of the ladies might give it a look out of charity.
