Extra's: The best extra was the 12.5 minute long Behind the Scenes extra as shot by Scott K. There was affair amount of emphasis on newcomer Sophia Lynn but the other ladies, especially Teagan Presley, were given a chance to shine (and Robby was probably goofed on more than anyone; showing he had a sense of humor, including when he commented on how he tried to blow himself and his desire to make a title called Snuggle Porn). The comic caricature this time was Charles Bronson (though I admit the references struck me as unrelated to anything I've seen him in) and I was pleased that the company is at least trying to add something in the way of unique extras. Audio/Video Quality: Teagan Presley: Icon was presented in the same 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by Director of Photography Robby D. for conceptual director Celeste to be released by Digital Playground. In terms of lighting and quality of picture, the movie was looking about as solid as any erotica shot these days (by anyone) in HD with the scenes all being distinctively captured in slightly different variations as Celeste likes to present. The lighting again varied too much to nail it down to a particular style but suffice it to say that the female eroticism Celeste sought to achieve was in full bloom in most of the scenes (as is usually the case). There was no unintentional grain or video noise observed, I saw no compression artifacts, and the composition of the scenes was such that all but one of the gals were made to look fantastic. Each vignette was a self contained short story open to interpretation, allowing consumers to project their own meaning into the scenes; making it an artistic endeavor more then the usual gonzo stuff that I happen to favor. It had a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround track with some decent separation and dynamic range, with the various selections providing a nice aural setting for the visuals in the location it was shot in. The down side was, as always, the lack of a vocal track to enhance the scenes via aural communication. The music may have been almost universally excellent (again credited to Joey Pulgadas) but like the visuals, a bit of variety in the use of vocals might've been a nice change of pace too, as a means of elevating the weaker scenes if nothing else.

Body of Review: Celeste is currently the female director at Digital Playground that is used to shoot their more erotic line of movies. Much like a highly stylized version of what company owner Joone tends to provide, her work involves less explicit sex, more build up on tease and temptation, as well as the abundant use of special lighting and motion effects that some fans find annoying. For me, this kind of movie is best served in smaller doses though I have first hand experience with those that tell me how her line of work manages to outdo Michael Ninn, Andrew Blake, and a number of others that are popular examples of the sub-genre. The latest such offering will come out later this month and it is called Teagan Presley: Icon. The expected style is provided, the cast were almost all perfect, and the diversity of the scenes within the thematic presentation were a marked improvement over the earlier attempts by the director, coming across almost as a companion piece to the highly regarded Hush (that won a coveted spot on this year's Top Ten List for women). If you're still interested, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that only one condom was used:

Scene One: Teagan Presley, the beauty gracing the front DVD cover, was up first as she played with a clear, studded dildo on the bed with her skimpy black bra & panties on. The music was piano heavy but fitting and she positively glowed thanks to the way the scene was shot. I have mixed feelings in general about starting a scene as the credits roll but the way they were handled this time seemed to foreshadow the erotic nature of the movie as a whole (as well as the individuality of the scene itself). As she pounded away at her pussy in a relatively non explicit manner, the music darkened with Marco Banderas/Duato watching her. He went down on her and she brightened up at his presence (conflicting with the thematic march playing a bit), resulting in her slobbing his knob in the same slow motion the rest of the movie was shot in. They went back and forth with the oral work before he sheathed his erection to drive it home, her ass rippling as she pushed back on it in a heated manner. One of the toughest things to display in slow motion is a sense of chemistry and passion but this time both were in full bloom as it was clear she was in charge and riding him actively. By the end of the scene, his scowl changed to a smile and he rubbed out a load to her open mouth, missing it much of the time but allowing for her to disprove the cum dodging theorists online as she even gave some post coital sucking. It was, therefore, a very appealing scene for me, because of the manner in which it was shot rather than in spite of it.

Scene Two: Kinzie Kenner, the incredibly appealing brunette used so often in the company's movies, was up next as she tried to cheer up a melancholy Scott Nails on the staircase in her underwear. It worked, of course, and he savored all she had to offer him as the music punctuated the dynamic once more. Her round, full bosoms got a lot of attention and I'm still amazed that she wasn't one of the recent contract acquisitions by the company (they just signed Lacie and Katsumi) but her appearances are always welcome by me and she admittedly looked exceptional her as expected. As the fog of despair lifted from Scott's aura, he went down on her to warm her up even more, eventually slipping his rod into her from behind in doggy style. They did a few more positions, with her best being in reverse cowgirl in terms of action, ending with some PTM and a facial. This was another scene with solid stroke and replay value for you to enjoy.

Scene Three: Tory Lane, one of the nastiest cuties in porn, crawled around on the floor in front of Jerry in her black lingerie in the next scene. The starkness of the visuals startled my sensibilities at first; the white couch and rug contrasted a lot with their black outfits and the range of colors in between were all but removed (as though lit by the glow of a television in a dark room) but it never looked bad; just different. As she climbed on top of him, the music changed to something a bit more lively; reminding me of some Andrew Blake work from awhile back. He joined in on giving head and the jeweled anal plug stood out as he appreciated her taste. The impact on her was noticeable as she started grinding her hips into his face, causing her to begin jerking him off and going back down on him in the 69. Moments later, he was sitting back as she bounced on his lap, surprising me that he popped so soon after that on her mouth and chest. It definitely kept me guessing as to what would happen, since an anal plug in porn almost always means extensive anal sex is about to take place.

Scene Four: Sophia Lynn, one of the cutest newcomer blondes I'm seen of late (she was in Hard Candy 3 with Richard Kline), was up next with Scott Nails as they watched something on TV at night. She was in her bikini (required wear at my place too for late night viewing) and he acted like he couldn't care less about her as she slowly stroked her leg and gave other signs of interest. He began rubbing himself when she wasn't looking but the setting soon came across as a strip club, with her as a dancer called to the stage. Scene Five: Skigh Phoxxx, a lean newcomer black gal that reminds me a lot of Marie Luv, was up next in a bedroom scene with Marco Banderas/Duato. She really doesn't do it for me and her stoic attitude for the scene as she passively let him paw her while she wore a mirrored mask, struck me as boring. The blowjob and vaginal sex were okay but there was nothing in the scene that I found appealing; the music was derivative, the visual technique was employed a lot better in an earlier scene, and the couple seemed to have no chemistry at all. If I didn't know better, I'd have suggested it was an attempt to emulate a Celeste version of what has been called Alt-Porn this year; typically acknowledged by most porn critics as people having sex that don't like to do so for consumers they don't give a fuck about (but I'm not quite that jaded, just yet anyway).

Scene Six: Lindsay Meadows, a lean stripper type of gal with a nice set of features, was up next in a modern looking bathroom (to the "$12 million house" as Robby put it in the BTS), as she teased the camera by putting on a tiny outfit that didn't even cover her ass cheeks while Jerry walked in and watched. She knew the effect she was having on him as he rubbed his cock, emphasizing her fleshy ass for his perusal in the manner a good peeler would do. This was another case where the music didn't quite jibe for me but the visuals were splendid and managed to introduce enough color to make it a hybrid scene of the usual Celeste styled scene and some of the bits here. Jerry ate her out as she purred in delight (from the look on her face) and she reciprocated with a vigorous hummer before they screwed (with the mirror providing some of the best angles of what they were doing). She was largely passive in terms of her own work in the penetrative parts of the scene and it ended with a standard facial but it wasn't a bad use of creative style overall.

Scene Seven: Daisy Marie, a tiny but physically appealing Latina, was up next in a clear chair as Scott Nails got a show from underneath (much like a scene Teagan did recently). The music seemed far more fitting to the action her and her fine red outfit really looked good on her; as did her smile. The tease factor alone elevated the heat here but she was a skilled fellatrix too, using her hand to gland combat style effectively as she slobbed his knob with a sense of passion. It lasted a long time with none of the footage appearing to be filler material, moving to a multi-position screw where her ass cheeks rippled and she worked him over nicely. It was not her most aggressively sexual scene initially but the gypsy music and her overall appeal ensured that it was still well done (the mixture of close ups and medium shots appeared different then most of the other scenes too). The facial seemed truncated at the end as the camera faded away, but I watched it a couple of times to see if there was a readily apparent reason and couldn't determine anything obvious.

Scene Eight: Teagan Presley, bound in a confined place (a modernistic wine cellar?) while wearing her skimpy white undies as seen on the front cover, was up last with dominant Tory Lane; a gal sporting a black strap on dildo. Tory savored her soon-to-be conquest, entering in to lick her and feel up the goods she was about to experience, slightly freeing her in order to more fully experience the pleasures of the flesh about to be bestowed upon her. Teagan blew the dildo and took it hard (though in slow motion, it was clear that this was the case) in her cookie, cleaning it off orally between positions before the scene ended. The music, busy visuals, and sexual antics of the scene seemed almost chaotic but thanks to the star power both of them shared, it also worked and provided a solid finish to a mostly appealing set of scenes.

Summary: Teagan Presley: Icon by director Celeste to be released by Digital Playground later this month provided a lot of erotic fuck for the buck with a largely terrific cast and some new stylish tricks up the sleeve of the production crew. I would be remiss if I said that the artistic nature of the movie will appeal to everyone but the same could be said about any other porno you'll find on the market too so let your personal taste decide as guided by my overview. In short, Teagan Presley: Icon was among the best opening rounds of the year in the battle for erotic supremacy, with Digital Playground setting the stakes high for others to try and catch up with, earning the DVD a Highly Recommended. If you're looking to give a gift to that special someone you missed at Christmas, you might want to consider this one as a perfect title for the ladies.
