Extras: After starting off with some spam (with cute Sunny Leone and others hawking the company's stuff), the rest of the extras provided little stroke value. There were not many other extras, a handful of trailers and more spam, but the length of the scenes largely made up for it again, the BTS incorporated into the scenes themselves once again for those of you holding the company to strict adherence on what the box cover advertises.

Audio/Video Quality: Brand New Faces 19 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec (with 480i resolution). For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the effects (making it look more like a real movie than just a porno). The lighting was well handled and this added to the pleasure of watching the gals in play as the lengthy scenes gave them enough freedom to explore what was advertised as their first scenes (with a money back guarantee advertised on the back cover). The composition of the camera angles and lighting were almost always optimal here, Skow seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the five ladies at every turn as possible. The fleshtones were accurate this time and the DVD mastering was well done (in a bitrate hovering around 3.6 Mbps), making it a slightly mixed bag in terms of visual quality; leaning towards above average and showing some additional grain compared to the earliest volumes in the series. Some used to rail about the watermark on the lower right hand corner of the scenes but this was removed some time ago; my biggest complaint being that having reviewed one of the series in Blu-Ray last year, the standard definition follow ups seem a bit lifeless by comparison. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were about the same as usual but aside from the added background noise, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent.

Body of Review: B. Skow has been the driving force at Vivid Entertainment in terms of providing good looking porn in recent years; typically bringing something unique to the mix as he enhanced the performances of the ladies he shot for the company under so many sets of circumstances. His latest release is a bit different in that it was a series of lengthy scenes called Brand New Faces 19; a movie dedicated to showcasing four lovely young Asian ladies in their first scenes for porn and the sequel to the popular Brand New Faces 18 I saw recently. The porn industry is replete with gals claiming to be in their first scenes ever but the catch this time was the cover promising a "100% Money-Back Guarantee" that these were the first times the ladies were on film. Be that as it may, the cover also promised that the scenes were candid and given my experience with newcomers, I have long been surprised at how well Skow gets great performances so regularly. Again of interest to me was the fact that Skow's name again appeared nowhere on the cover either front or back, strange considering the award winning director is a major selling point thanks to his skill with the camera as well as the ladies. If you're still interested, here's a quick glimpse into the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Ada Van Styles, a brunette with a healthy sense of self respect for a performer, was up first as the six foot lass impressed the director. Unlike some of her peers, she seemed to lack any shyness whatsoever and her confidence level never waivered, the Olympia Washington native enjoying the attention before working with Voodoo. Her tits did not look as though they were a true "D" cup but her mercenary attitude was perfectly stated (and welcomed by Skow), her stripper approach to life just what was needed. Fans can go see her in person when visiting Exposed (a club in Canoga Park), her promise of a special dance for those watching the movie something I'll have to inquire about. There was tease, more interview, and a masturbation sequence with a gold vibrator, the main event showing Voodoo willing to cater to her oral needs before she blew him in return. Her oral showed she was far from a stranger to giving head, the enthusiasm welcomed by this reviewer even before she (moderately) actively rode the guy's pecker in numerous positions. The ending had him jerking out a load of genetic juice to her face and her providing some post coital head, the gal a winner in my book.

Scene Two: Amber, a sexy little 21 year old blond from Catlettsburg Kentucky with big boobs as featured on the front cover, was up next as she followed the formula. Skow loved her cute little peach fuzz as much as I did, pawing her before seeing just how large her implants were (as well as their piercings). Unlike Ada, Amber was a lot more nervous, appealing more to the newcomer dynamic embraced by the series but each had their place. Amber was a stripper too, her curvy ass showing just enough flesh to make it a special showing as far as I was concerned. She did the formula fairly well too, resulting in her pairing off in the next room with Charles Dera. Amber was a more passive rider but she still looked good getting banged vaginally, her little moans adding to the value of the moment and draining Charles of population pudding surprisingly well (he must have liked her given the way he bust such a large nut).

Scene Three: Cece Cavalli, a girl next door brunette with a very outgoing nature from Boston Massachusetts, was up next and she really seemed to adore Skow during their verbal exchange. The way she looked at him and responded to his touch showed she had learned a few things in her 22 years of life. Her all natural breasts looked sexy and she appeared to be burning off her nervousness by flirting with the director. Upon following the tease and solo portions of the formula, she practically jumped Alex Gonz after Skow admonished her for acting instead of just being herself (some strippers are like that apparently). He ate her and she reciprocated in a 69 position, often looking into the camera as if beckoning the viewer to jerk off. She whispered a few things to him as well, probably coaxing him to dive deeper when he stuck his tongue up her sweet ass. Alex had a few erection problems and she was not exactly the most active vaginal rider of the day but despite the lack of personal chemistry, I'd like to see more of her in the future. The scene ended when he rubbed out a load to her ass, Cece pulling her cheeks apart to make the act even wilder.

Scene Four: Presley Staxxx, the cute brunette seen on the lower right hand corner of the cover, was up next as the 21 year old from Utah enjoyed herself. I agree with Skow that her tits were bigger than "C" cup, their bouncy nature impressing the director at how well the implants were done. While coming across as slightly shy, she warmed up quickly enough during the interview, her youthful zeal as a stripper/escort helping her handle the aspects of the scene before taking care of Nick Manning. Nick was hanging out in the background during the interview, being told to quiet down by Skow, but he was especially attentive to Presley's needs here. I know he can be loud and sometimes obnoxious ("dropping loads") but from what I understand, he's also a very talented performer off camera too, dispensing with his act to get a gal off really well. When he finished with her oral warmup, she blew him with a degree of enthusiasm I found refreshing, impaling herself actively during the vaginal action. Nick returned to form at the very end (with a few words in between), providing the facial she seemed to want (and need) soon enough.

Scene Five: Melissa Cole, a gal with bright eyes and big teeth, was up last and while she did not appear to be my type, the Reno native hitting the jackpot by getting to work with James Deen when she finished the tease, interview, and solo portion of the scene. Melissa said she wasn't promiscuous, wasn't intending to make porn a career despite getting an agent, and otherwise wanted to enjoy her 23 year old body as best she could to catch up for lost time (5 guys in her life, started at 18.5 years old). She did a decent open and the freelance model showed James that she was into him, his hand warming her up before she slowly blew him with limited skill. He porked her well enough with his sausage (pun intended) and while she was passive and not my type, she did a capable job of it and he even went down on her late in the scene. The pop shot went to her crotch and lower abdomen too, the sweaty pair caught off guard (look at her face after the ejaculation).

Summary: Brand New Faces 19 by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment was worth a rating of Recommended to me for all the action, the new faces, and the technical handling of the scenes but fans of brand new gals will think it was a "must have" since the ladies looked and performed their roles so well. I can't definitively state that none of them have shot a professional scene before but like so many titles that Vivid sits on for years as part of their marketing approach, Brand New Faces 19 was part of the disturbing trend to hold off on releasing the scenes, from what I gather due to the multitude of material Skow has shot ahead of schedule. Whatever the reality of the marketing claim though, all five of the ladies were breaths of fresh air and deserve some accolades for providing enough fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay value to make this a keeper for your collection. Skow does it again with his attentive nature to make these five ladies shine better than his peers could hope to, the series website probably the best thing the company has provided in a long time in terms of consistent quality.
