Extra's: The best extra for most fans will be the three bonus scenes with Cassidey starring in them. They weren't good enough to make the final cut of the main feature but they had the requisite element, Cassidey, and were therefore included as a bonus. There was also a 12.5-minute long Behind the Scenes feature for Sordid, a feature starring Cassidey. It was okay with director Paul Thomas rambling about on the set. There was also the usual photogallery, trailers, a double-sided DVD cover and spam to flesh out the DVD.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented, in almost all cases at least, in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as originally shot. The scenes came between 2000 and 2002 so you should expect an amount of grain and video noise, an amount of which was present here. Some of the darker scenes were worse than others but most of them looked similar in terms of quality. I didn't see any compression artifacts or other mastering problems as most scenes looked like they did on their original releases. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English with no subtitles or closed captioning for the hearing impaired. For the most part, deaf people aren't missing much since the vocals were almost always limited to a handful of fake moans and groans. In any case, there wasn't a lot of separation between the channels or dynamic range which should be no surprise if you've watched a Vivid compilation in the past.

Body of Review: Vivid is best known these days for their ever-rotating selection of contract performers. From the magnificent Jenna Jameson to the more subdued Cassidey, the company has long offered something for most mainstream porn tastes. One of the lesser known performance artists the company has employed would be the subject of today's review on a compilation dedicated solely to her, The Real Cassidey. Cassidey was the black-haired lean gal with an all-natural body that seemed to be a hot property in the late 1990's through the early 2000's. She was notable for enjoying sex with men and women alike and as Vivid continues to release compilations based on everyone that's ever worked for them, she has come up twice in the compilation lottery for my review queue this week. Without further ado, here's a look at this compilation, which follows the same format many of you have asked for:

Scene One: Action Sports Sex 11: D-Robby D.: 2000: Cassidey, while in a warehouse watching some bicyclists show their moves, had a scene with Pat on the edge of a ramp. Most of the sex was straight in the pussy boning (several positions) but some oral took place too. This wasn't the strongest scene of hers and I'm surprised it was included at the beginning.

Scene Two: The Black Room: D-David Stanley: 2000: Cassidey and Bobby had a scene on a bed in a dark room while another guy (Eric Masterson) watched them go at it. The sex was oral and straight only with some heated moments but nothing out of the ordinary for Vivid. It ended when he jerked off on her nice ass.

Scene Three: Color Blind 7: D-Robby D.: 2000: Cassidey, Justice, Chris, and Willie, had a small orgy on a large bed together. Most of the time, the gals stuck with their partners rather than switching around, something that weakened the potential of the scene. Cassidey was the star of the scene too since she seemed more into the action at hand but it wasn't a bad scene by any means.

Scene Four: Diary Of Desire: D-Jim Enright: 2000: Cassidey and Shelbee, both looking good in their checkered skin-tight outfits, took on Billy in a police holding facility. I hated Shelbee's hairstyle (the braided look) but can't deny she was the better of the two gals in this scene. I thought the typographical error made in the title caption (labeling it "Dairy") was funny but the sex was good so I won't fuss too loudly. The sex was oral and straight with a touch of lesbian tossed in for good measure.

Scene Five: Dreams: D-Michael Raven: 2001: Cassidey and Erik had a scene in a smoke-filled room during a typical Raven-esque fantasy sequence. They started off in a 69 position, savoring one another orally before they started boning. The visual effects were cheap as were the audio aspects of the scene so you know it stunk. I also thought she paid far too much attention to the camera and that sure didn't help make me interested.

Scene Six: House Sitter: D-Tommy Ganz: 2000: Cassidey had another lesbian scene, this time with Chandler. I liked the scene and think they had some fun together although Chandler was the most vocal of the two. It included lots of oral and rubbing with some strap on dildo action too. For the most part, it was fun to watch since the duo seemed at ease with one another and both had a bit of chemistry for their partner.

Scene Seven: The Jungle: D-Cody: 2000: The scene started off with Cassidey and Chenin going down on one another in a wilderness setting. Mark quickly sniffed them out so they took turns pleasing the bald guy and he then returned the favor with his mouth and penis. The scene was presented in non-anamorphic widescreen and seemed to have some heat to it although not as much as I've seen them in other scenes.

Scene Eight: Sordid: D-Cleo Edwards: 2002: Cassidey, Taylor, Eric and Dale had the longest scene of the compilation (by a lot) in a living room setting. Initially, Cassidey was entertaining the guys by dancing with them and rubbing them a bit until they started getting her undressed. She then put on a real show for them and Taylor soon walked in. Before long, everyone was naked and there was lesbian, straight, and lots of oral to go around. I liked this one for a number of reasons but mostly because the cast managed to warm up the screen in numerous ways outside of the cookie cutter formula typically employed.

Scene Nine: Marrisa: D-Paul Thomas: 2001: Cassidey, Dayton, Venus and John all had a fun time that started out with the gals having some lesbo-love on a bar top. John didn't get too much action here and the gals even did some anal with their toys. I think I would've liked it more if the scene had allowed all the themes to be explored as thoroughly as possible but it had a few hot moments.

Scene Ten: Mi Vida: D-Toni English: 2000: Cassidey, Chandler, Dee and Raylene had a lesbian scene in a clothing store. They got a bit tough at times but for the most part, each had an opportunity to lick and be licked as much as they desired. They used some toys but not all that much and Raylene was the stand out performer of the show.

Summary: I liked this compilation better than 5 Star Cassidey, but it still didn't work consistently enough for me to rate it higher than Rent It. Too many of the scenes have been used in previous compilations and that lowers the value for me. If you like Cassidey and haven't bought any of her other DVD's, you might want to check this one out since she's worth watching, just not with the same scenes you might already have on another disc.
