Extra's: The extras on each disc were remarkably similar. Each had some limited production notes on where the scenes came from, cast biographies, trailers, photogalleries, and a variety of foreign language choices with subtitles for those who care. The DVD case itself was a slightly larger case with two overlapping spindles that are notoriously difficult to safely remove discs from.

Audio/Video Quality: Colour Your Hair was a set of four compilations from Private's earlier days in the DVD world. As such, most of the scenes were shot in full frame 1.33:1 ratio color although a few here were in non-anamorphic widescreen with an approximate ratio of 1.85:1. In general, the scenes looked somewhat weaker than the more recent material put out by Private but aside from some minor pixelation on a handful of scenes, some lighting issues and resulting grain, and the odd bit of video noise, most of the scenes looked okay. The discs in the set appeared to be unaltered original versions from the original releases that are still available (in short, this set is a compilation of compilations DVDs) although this bargain set was reasonably priced, even considering the flaws. I did see a few compression artifacts in a few of the earlier discs but nothing worth alarming fans about given the sheer amount of material included on the DVDs. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo with many of the scenes sporting the old fashioned English language dub by a female narrator. The music and vocals therefore varied a lot more in quality than the picture did for those who listen to porn on their home theatre set ups.

Body of Review: Private is one of the largest porn producers in the world and has been for years; offering up lots of variety in terms of the action, women, and even types of movies they release. In recent years, the company has been offering up compilations of their past work, bundling them together to save fans a lot of money. The most recent release is a set of four compilations DVDs put together on one set called, Colour Your Hair: Limited Edition DVD Pack. The set puts together four separate Private compilations, Blondes On Fire, Brunettes On Fire, Redheads On Fire and Shaved Pussies; all for the price of about two of their movies. The technical quality of each scene varied a significant amount but the fuck for the buck value was exceptional if you enjoy the type of porn that Private offers. Here's a quick breakdown of the discs in terms of where the scenes came from, who directed them, and who was in them, noting that anal sex was standard for the company and almost every scene was hardcore:

Summary: Colour Your Hair had some great scenes, some decent scenes, and some scenes that were generic as could be but the movies totaled up to provide just under 400 minutes of porn for a good price. If you enjoy the movies of the company, you'll find a lot to appreciate here so I'm rating it as Recommended for you. If you hate the mechanical sex many people claim Private showcases, by all means you should avoid this compilation but It took me the better part of two days to get through this set with a great many scenes showing decent replay value so your mileage may vary according to personal taste. I'd break the scenes themselves down for you but after the fourth hour of hardcore screwing, they all started to look alike, even though the scenes from each disc represented gals of that hair color (or with shaved pussies on the last disc) well enough and if any of them didn't do anal, I can't remember who they were. Whew!
