Audio/Video Quality: Best New Starlets 2015 was presented in a crisp anamorphic widescreen color as released by director Dreadneck (another name for Derek Dozer) for Elegant Angel. The lighting was plentiful and the general camera work was good though there were times when it shook like something was up and the footage not edited out. Otherwise, the editing by “CD” (Craig Daze, formerly associated with Tom Byron productions) provided a very polished look and emulated the previous incarnations of the company lineup quite well. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English track was pretty basic with little separation or dynamic range yet I could hear the cast well enough in most cases, the music not credited this time.

Body of Review: Dreadneck is a talented director at Elegant Angel that works elsewhere under the name Derek Dozer, the latest flick of his for the company that I have been handed to review called Best New Starlets 2015, a gonzo title with five scenes. The featured cover hotties included Keisha Grey, Carter Cruise, Aidra Fox, and August Ames, with Jillian Janson and Samantha Rone apparently on stand by or something. Going into the show, I felt a little cynical since some of these ladies have been in porn for over two years and shot well over 100 scenes, the series formerly seen as a predictive model (as in: “Who is going to be the biggest brand new ladies?” or “Who should we look out for this year that has yet to make a big splash?”) and now it seems changed to a descriptive model (who was big the last few years that entered the business), the distinction between the two quite a huge chasm. Still, as someone that has appreciated scenes from each and every one of them out of their dozens upon dozens each has already released at this writing, my concern was merely academic as the company appears to have delegated the role of “starmaker” to others in the industry, not a bad thing really, just limiting. The company website described the movie like this: “Elegant Angel presents "BEST NEW STARLETS 2015" Showcasing the hottest AVN award nominated Starlets including the Starlet of the Year Carter Cruise! 5 brand new scenes including a Carter Cruise anal scene!! Over 3 hours of the hottest new girls in porn! Starring Carter Cruise, Keisha Grey, Aidra Fox, August Ames, Jillian Janson and Samantha Rone. Enjoy!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Carter Cruise, the beautiful blond babe with amazing eyes that won just about every credible “best new starlet” award for her work from 2013 to 2014 including XCritic’s award all the way through the other venues, was up first in an interview with a tease montage edited into it, the gal wearing conservative white lingerie as she teased before being stuck with Bruce Venture as a sex partner. The interviews were straight out of the book “Porn 101” in terms of how generic they were but the limited tease led to the ladies hooking up in their black lingerie on the silver patterned couch I see so often in Derek’s scenes, the director encouraging the ladies to go over the top on each other orally and with fingers, Aidra loving August’s bald beaver and August very much into reciprocation, the gals eventually sharing a long, double headed red jelly dildo on each other which gave a great shot of August’s terrific ass and Aidra’s desire to fuck the gal’s pussy. It was fun but given their respective sexual abilities, it seemed like more of a performance than any chemistry together and many will figure it a waste that such premium pussy was wasted on each other without a cock to drive them home. The two mounting each end of the dildo at the same time did not work very well given August was best positions for cowgirl and Aidra was in missionary, the over the top vocals reducing the replay value and strokability even though more toys came out for anal and a wand to excite them, making it too formulaic.

I suppose even if I were to just accept that each of the listed ladies made the cut from the AVN nominations that started almost a year ago (yes, next year’s award nominations are rushing toward us quickly friends), a few of the missing names were much higher rated than some of these by voters and fans alike, a release like this using all new starlets proposed to be on the next list or such a movie released shortly after the nominations were announced would’ve had a great deal more impact with me, not to mention wasting two of the ladies on a lesbian scene. But Carter Cruise, Keisha Grey, Aidra Fox and others here were all still very attractive and sort of new, I just expect more from trend setters like Elegant Angel as a company and industry leaders like new owner Jerry who has long had his finger on the pulse of consumer tastes so I’ll cross my fingers that next year’s version of Best New Starlets 2015 will be more timely. Regardless, give this one a look with all the nostalgia you need to make it work for your interpretation of things since you really get a decent amount of fuck for the buck, some of the cast still working on becoming skilled performers years after entering the business.
