Extras: The first disc only had a trailer for the movie as the bulk of goodies were located on the second disc. The second disc started with a 32:14 minute long non-sex version of the movie, followed by a 28:14 minute long Behind the Scenes feature showing Axel and the team from both sides of the camera getting ready for their roles. There was a fair amount of photoshoot material, some makeup being done, and lots of little clips where Axel was lending a hand, the making of the costumes as well as a plethora of performers trying to audition for roles. Next came three unrelated bonus scenes: Carter Cruise & Will Powers in Break Up Blues lasting 24:54 minutes, Kleio Valentien & Seth Gamble from Axel Braun’s Inked lasting 21:51 minutes, and Jayden Jaymes with Derrick Pierce from By Appt Only lasting 23:18 minutes, a photogallery, some trailers, and a company promo reel.

Audio/Video Quality: Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody was presented in a crisp anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Axel Braun for Wicked Pictures. While this release was in the usual standard definition 480p, it was advertised as being shot in 1080p, the company website allowing viewing in that enhanced format for subscribers. The double disc outing included one disc with the movie and the second holding the bulk of extras, a fair amount of attention paid the atmospheric lighting to enhance the scenes rather than go with the usual kind of warehouse lighting that is flat, even, and totally wrong for this kind of parody. “Mac Swell” was listed as director of photography and camera operator (along with Axel and Marc Weston on cameras), the assistant director role handled by Rikki Braun, Seth Cardigan handling sound with Brother Goat, Axel also taking care of editing with Mrs Braun and Marc, the director listed as art director too while the multitude of special effects were done by Level 5 Post. The stereo surround sound was added in post production, no separation between the channels noticed on either my home theater set up or headphones (used for a second pass at the show to grab screen captures and the like), the vocals sometimes overwhelmed by the crisp score given the aggressive mix favoring the music though the aural components similar in quality to the visual elements; all of which will likely end up nominated for a multitude of awards later this year.

Body of Review: Axel Braun has one of the most pedigreed porn backgrounds given his training and the fact that the legendary Lasse Braun (RIP) was his father, the talented prince of parodies currently having his works distributed by Wicked Pictures. While some are suggesting his upcoming sequel to his multi-award winning Star Wars parody is the odds on favorite for all the usual awards later this year, still others are betting that the just released Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody may also steal the show(s). Based more on an amalgamation of varied sources (in particular, comics and animated television shows) than next year’s Hollywood blockbuster being worked on at the moment, Axel’s appreciation for the comic books he grew up with shows right away in the screenplay he and co-writer Mark Logan put forth here. I’ll minimize spoilers but there was more of a story here than some of Axel’s past comic hero parodies, the amount of cosplay in costume by hotties such as super cute Carter Cruise reprising her supergirl role, busty Alison Tyler as Wonder Woman, and Kleio Valentien as what amounts to the perfect fit as Harley Quinn (to name a few), contrasted really well to Ryan Driller’s Superman, Giovanni Francesco’s Batman, and Brendon Miller’s The Joker. The box described the movie like this: “It's the comic book porn showdown of the century! Legendary Director Axel Braun puts his sexy spin on the world's two most beloved superheroes as they battle each other in this Wicked mega-production. Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Maxima, Supergirl, and a bodacious Wonder Woman join an extraordinary cast of hot characters in this highly erotic and totally epic spoof. Two heroes will rise. And in more ways than one!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Britney Amber, a busty babe most strongly associated with a different company these days, was up first as Maxima, an intergalactic leader teaming up with Superman (Ryan Driller) to vanquish an alien invasion of her home system as she sought to convince him how well suited they were for each other. Every iteration of the character has faced this dilemma, based on a nobility system where love is secondary to power in hooking up, Superman declining the bigger invitation to form a political alliance and rule the galaxy though throwing her a bone all the same. They kissed and pawed each other a little but the basis for the scene was that magical act of a blowjob, Britney’s seasoned mouth surely having learned a few tricks in the many, many hundreds or thousands of knobs she has slobbed over the years. To her credit, she was enthusiastic at her trade, remaining in the outfit as she provided a sloppy hummer, complete with nut nuzzling and hand to gland friction. She sported flaming red hair and her skimpy costume was more reminiscent of comic book female attire over the years than anything the other ladies wore. Rather than beat it out of her, he gave in to her demands and was soon kissing the tricky minx, sucking her tits and enjoying her energetic oral skills as he remained in costume and she modified hers enough to allow for full penetrative sex. Some of the dialog was particularly funny here but the basics were well done sexually for a parody feature, the ladies moving from each other to sharing his cock, both able to throat him without a second thought though they appeared more interested in gobbling gash given their facial expressions during either. Kleio got the bulk of boning during the scene but Aiden had fun too, her bald beaver eventually pushing him past the point of no return to glaze their faces during the ensuing final hummer.

Scene Five: Alison Tyler, the busty brunette featured on the right side of the front cover, was up last as Wonder Woman, the Amazonian princess trying to reconcile Superman (Ryan Driller) and Batman (Giovanni Francisco) after the two engage in the titular battle. She started by alternating kissing the men, their hands roaming her fleshy bosoms and ass before they each took a tit to suck. She then sucked one of them off as the other fucked her pussy, a landing strip of pubic hair gracing her costume covered crotch shown as the material was pushed aside to gain greater access. Summary: Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody by director Axel Braun for Wicked Pictures had performers that looked the part, a light story that had them acting in character better than most, and managed to balance the feature elements with the sexual trysts in a way that showed each was important to the director. While I agree with industry experts that the genre is largely dead but for a handful of releases where enough effort was placed in them such as Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody and Axel’s inventive (and fun) Barbarella XXX, any minor misgivings I might have regarding the movie did not detract from the highlights, the movie earning a rating of Highly Recommended as a result. There was enough sexual cosplay for the fan contingent, the characters remaining in their outfits as they went at it, plenty of special effects, and the right “feel” for a pornified version of the popular DC comics characters given modern day budgets and constraints. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re expecting gonzo styled sex, or a willingness to cater to character extremists, you’ve come to the wrong place but for anyone at all interested in seeing a superhero porn parody, good luck in finding anything better coming out anytime soon.
