Audio/Video Quality: Backdoor to Brazil was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by the Macho Brothers for Vertigo Video. The colors were fairly accurate, the lighting okay, and the amount of visual flaws within normal parameters for low budget gonzo. It wasn't bad to look at but if you've seen a lot of gonzo, you'll find this one to be below average compared to modern releases (on average). The audio was similarly situated with a monaural track in a foreign language (it wasn't Spanish) and vocals that could be heard slightly better than the background noises.

Body of Review: With new companies springing forward almost every week, if not more frequently, my job as a reviewer is somewhat difficult in terms of keeping track of all that goes on in the porn world. One company I thought showed some potential previously had been Vertigo Video and I wanted to see if their latest release, Backdoor to Brazil was better than the low grade front (and rear) cover would have me believe. Sadly, the content had all the advertised anal action but it wasn't any better than I would have guessed given the cover. I didn't mind the lack of cast identifications but the way the DVD was mastered, providing a separate title for each aspect of the show (two for each scene), showed me that the company didn't even care enough to handle the mastering properly. Here's a look at the scenes but unless you've seen every Buttman release and every other Brazilian themed show, this won't appeal much to you:

Scene One: Since none of the cast were credited and few of them have made more than a single porno, I won't attempt to display my knowledge of who they were as I seriously doubt the folks at Vertigo Video knew either. The first gal, a brunette whose favorite word must be "Aiiieee" since she said it so much, wasn't bad at sex but even though she took anal like a champion, it was kind of boring to watch. There was an attempt at a short DP but that kind of fizzled out and the slapping at the end (she slapped her two male partners) didn't do anything for me.

Scene Two: The next gal wore some hot lingerie and followed the tease before sex formula. The slow motion tease kind of weakened it for me but fans of gals that look too young to legally make porn might enjoy this scene. She had lighter hair and a nice ass but seemed too submissive for my tastes, failing to fully enjoy the sex with her partner. She often looked away from him or the camera as though she didn't want to be there and if a participant doesn't enjoy the sex, how much could a viewer? She did do anal so the advertising was accurate about her but still; what's the point?

Scene Three: Gina, the gal from the front DVD cover and only performer listed as having been in more than a scene or two, was up next. I'm pretty sure I've seen her in a few Evil Angel releases but she's not up to their normal standard of quality. I thought she had some untapped potential here and she did everything expected of her, including the oral, vaginal, anal DP, and taste testing, but even with her energy levels being slightly above average, her chemistry was lacking, making this the best of a batch of bad scenes.

Scene Four: The next gal had dark reddish hair and a tiny postage stamp sized thong as she teased in the fountain of a pool. I liked how she used ice cubes to get erect and the dildo she used was pretty cool too but once her scene began for real, it was filler all the way. Her sole partner fingered and licked her ass before getting any and the entire scene seemed contrived. Again, it wasn't terrible but it sure wasn't worth watching even the one time I checked it out.

Scene Five: The last gal up looked most like a Brazilian out of the entire cast with dark, sultry eyes, a round ass and the look of someone who could arguably drain a guy's balls dry. The tease footage was nice but with her clear toy, she failed to evoke a feeling that she was present for anything other than the money. I'm sure some of you won't mind that fact but I'd be lying to you if I said her skills were as well developed as her tight, youthful, body. She did anal as well but it seemed as though she was picked up off the local street corner in Brazil and asked if she wanted to make a couple extra bucks by letting someone film her usual profession.

Summary: Backdoor to Brazil was almost as generic a gonzo title as I've seen in quite a long time. If your sole intent is to see gals that haven't been in a lot of porn, you will probably want to add some points to my rating but otherwise, it was very indistinguishable from the scores of third rate crud on the market. I still think Vertigo has a lot of potential but I'll be avoiding their foreign releases in the future unless they prove they've taken steps to improve. I'll be a sport and rate this one as a Skip It although I'm fairly certain it will only appeal to a handful of you out there.
