Audio/Video Quality: Filth was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel. The lighting was good in most cases and the camera seemed to be best in the second and third scene but no one was credited with working it, the uncredited editing was smoother than usual too in most cases as well. So while the framing of all the shots was not perfect and the flesh tones occasionally a bit off, the heat of the actual performances was what stood out here, a given in most scenes with Manuel in them but the others did a great job too. There was the light company watermark on the lower right corner of the scene at all times but care was taken most of the time to keep the action away from it, in all this was a pleasant looking fuck flick, some compression artifacts observed on the big screen but not enough to warrant special notice given the sheer amount of footage included. The aural experience was handled in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo, the vocals clear and the limited music during tease and credits not getting in the way. There was some background noise at times but it was minimal and the microphone was strong enough to pick up some of the whispered comments between the cast when the sound was turned up a bit higher than usual.

Body of Review: Manuel Ferrara is generally accepted as the best male performer in porn by most standards, the best standard being that he brings out the best in virtually every woman he works with; something none of his peers can say even on their best day. That he has some humility about it only makes a better case for him setting the standard by which to measure others, and his work at Evil Angel as a director has often taken advantage of his charm to enhance the outcome of most scenes. That said, his latest flick before taking a short vacation is called Filth, a set of four scenes where Manuel is the male lead in two of them, his wife Kayden Kross is given a lesbian scene with super popular Dani Daniels, and he brings in well known feature performer Stephen St. Croix to work with bubbly Latina Carmen Caliente, Manuel reserving himself to work with Bree Daniels and Mercedes Carrera in separate scenes. To sum it up, each scene had tremendous potential to be a stroke fest in the single disc outing, standing out from the pack of contenders with some appreciated variety. Summary: Filth by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel was an impressive selection of four scenes that I found very appealing in many ways, Bree Daniels and Mercedes Carrera lighting up with passion as they worked with Manuel, Carmen Caliente as smoking hot as ever in her playful tryst with Stephen, and Dani Daniels showing just how strong her abilities are by helping Kayden Kross look her best in their lesbian encounter, the replay value and strokability earning the movie a rating of Highly Recommended. Unlike weaker gonzo efforts from other companies that have to rely on gimmicks such as “first this or that” tricks, the four scenes here were populated by high quality hotties having fun, the two males largely considered at the top of their respective food chains to enhance the outcome. In short, Filth certainly had a lot of fuck for the buck in terms of hardcore sexual activity, the performers letting loose to enjoy the action while pleasuring their partners in a myriad of ways to make this a winner so check it out.
