Extra's: The best extra by most standards will be the bonus scene between Trina Michaels, Wanda Curtis and Kurt Lockwood in a large bathtub from the movie Madam Curtis. It was a nicely done scene with a lot to enjoy. I liked the 29.5 minute long Behind the Scenes featurette a lot too as it provided an insider's look at the shooting of the movie with some nudity and fun between the cast and crew. There was also a photogallery, a fetish menu, some trailers, and a double sided DVD cover but the first two extras were the best of the batch by far.

Audio/Video Quality: Dream was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director Mario Rossi for New Sensations. The scenes all had some minor flaws but most of them could be attributed to the dreamy quality he was going for with darker than average lighting contributing to some elevated levels of grain and video noise. The camera angles were often, though not always, complimentary to the women, but the biggest problems related to the lack of chemistry and/or heat and passion by the gals. There were shadows, some compression artifacts, and the editing left in some occasional moments of unfocused material that weakened the effort as a whole. The stereo English audio was another area where work was needed due in large part to the droning music used but also because of the limited vocals. I like hearing a gal talk dirty more than mechanically moan and while there was some of that, it wasn't enough but any standard to work in most scenes.

Body of Review: One of the more recent meat puppet-turned-directors in porn is Mario Rossi, a guy that could pass as Rocco Siffredi's kid brother. With a lean, chiseled body and a solid tan, the man is said to be a favorite of gals all over the world, especially in these days of any hoodlum popping some Viagra to make his porn dream come true. While he only has a few movies as director under his belt, he seems to be finding out exactly what kind of style works best for his own vision so it may be awhile before a movie with his name in it will mean anything more than a generic excuse to show performers doing what comes naturally. The latest such movie is the New Sensations release of Dream, also called Mario Rossi's Dream. It's a basic series of fairly unrelated vignettes that have a narration by Denise K. as she dreams herself and others in various scenes. I know that's not a lot to go on but it describes the action in general terms to give you an idea of where the movie is coming from. Here's a brief look at the scenes, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Brooke Haven and Kianna Dior, dressed in flimsy outfits reminding me of tapestries more than anything else, were up first as they toyed with one another at night in front of a metal fireplace with a healthy flame going. As Kianna pushed a dildo in and out of Brooke, the two started getting wet enough to alert Mario Rossi, who joined them on the platform to snack on their cracks. The ladies then returned the favor by tag teaming his meat in a sloppy fashion and the scene soon went to the usual vaginal boning after that. Brooke was the more active of the two gals when it came to screwing although she laid back and just took it when he switched to anal. Kianna did some ATOGM (sucked him clean straight out of Brook's ass) but not much and she went back to sitting on his face while Brooke rode him before the ending pop shot to their breasts. It wasn't a great scene to start the movie but it had a few moments that I found enjoyable.

Scene Two: Dillan Lauren, a cute brunette with a decent sized rack, Denise K., the "lead" gal of the movie playing Mario's wife, and studly Marco Duato, a ringer for a certain governator from California, were up next in a scene on a bed. Dillan looked a little out of it with doe eyes and a blank expression on her face but she never hesitated at pleasing him from the time she started inhaling his penis. Denise eventually joined them but she always played second fiddle here as Dillan did the PTM, screwing vaginally, and otherwise remained the center of his attention. Denise did get some cock in her pussy but only a few minutes worth as Dillan went into anal mode during some doggy style action (I love doggy style…yum!). The scene finished up with a technical DP and a facial but again, it was as if the cast were holding back (and the exposition by Denise between the scenes sounded as wooden as one of the meat puppets).

Scene Three: Genesis Skye and Mia Bangg, were up next in a scene that made them look like flappers from the 1920's. They sat on a couch in a wealthy looking mansion, playing well with one another as Nick Manning looked on. Using a red glass dildo, they took turns licking the shaft before licking each other, taking turns yet again with some plunging action into their young, tight pussies. Nick couldn't stand any more of it so he came over to assist, and the action as a trio then began in earnest. There was vaginal, anal, technical DP's and some ATM; all with a fair amount of energy but the pounding music and limited amount of interaction between the cast at key moments kept it from really working as well as it should have. Still, I thought they did a decent, if mechanical, job with this one.

Scene Four: Shy Love, the curvy brunette on the front DVD cover, was up next looking like a million bucks in her black leather outfit and fur coat. Her tease dance was a lot of fun to watch in the barren concrete industrial setting and it wasn't long before both Talon and Reno were rubbing and stroking her to ready her for the coming action. Each of the trio was an active partner this time and while the music was giving me a headache, I recognized that she was soon giving the best scene of the movie (by far) as she went from one to the other, sucking with abandon. She rode them as if possessed, one at a time while blowing the other, never letting her hips stop grinding into some meaty flesh. It ended with a double facial and had a lot of passion with substantially better energy than the other scenes.

Scene Five: Denice K., sporting a bit of lingerie that complemented her look, was up last as she took care of Kurt Lockwood and Tommy Gunn in another darkened industrial setting similar to the one above but more cramped. She dropped to her knees on queue and gave the second best blowjobs of the show. She then took them one at a time in her pussy, blowing the other as she did so with a lot of energy in most positions. Her ability to bounce on the men's cocks was directly related to the position she was in but she aggressively pushed back as they screwed her, making it the second best scene overall, ending again with a double facial.

Summary: Dream was worth a rating of Rent It to me although it showed some significant promise in a couple of scenes worth keeping an eye out for. Mario's still finding his niche in porn and the future will tell if he slips into oblivion or becomes the next best thing but the bottom line for this release is that it was too unpolished with action too generic to set it apart from most of the other 12,000 pornos released in the last year. Some of the gals looked really good but had trouble conveying a sense of heat and the technical matters often seemed second rate, not something I expected from a classy company like New Sensations. It's still worth a look if you like the cast though so take my comments with a grain of salt but I expected more having watched some of Mario's work for Mercenary Pictures.
