Audio/Video Quality: Amateur P.O.V. was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color the scenes were shot in by director Ari Zan for release by Red Light District. As an amateur movie, it was not supposed to have properly lighting and that's good because most of the scenes appeared to be shot using a home camera with ambient light, the kind of style amateurs have been doing for decades now (even I got my first video camera over twenty years ago so I know how it goes). There was a fair amount of grain, mosquito noise, and minor artifacts but it was all in keeping with the general theme about couples that weren't in porn having fun in a spontaneous manner. The fleshtones were off a little too but I don't think most people will pick this one up based on the technical matters if past experience is a good guide. The audio was presented encoded in 2.0 Dolby Digital but I was sure that the vocals were captured by the built in microphone on the camera and while you could hear background noises if you paid attention, the cheese level was to be expected.

Body of Review: Red Light District has long been one of the leaders in gonzo porn so recent changes at the company have caused a lot of talk online about what they need to do to reclaim their place in the porn pantheon. Some of the suggestions are simply unrealistic (the financial model that allows for directors to own full rights to their movies while the company merely distributes them is shaky at best) and others have been tried unsuccessfully elsewhere so the recent new lines started by the company to provide more interracial and now amateur flicks seems to be pretty sound. Giving the consumer what they wanted has worked in the past and the RLD/PXP method of catering to the public has since spawned a large number of directors making the proverbial "big bucks" at other companies so it was with great interest that I took a look at my first title from the company's Amateur District line called Amateur P.O.V.. The idea was to present some scenes of gals that hadn't done a lot of porn in the past and with the exception of one gal, this appeared to be truthfully advertised. Here's a look at the scenes noting that one condom was used and none of the men were credited by scene:

Scene One: Riley Evans, the blonde on the upper right hand corner of the front cover wearing red lingerie, was up first as she teased her boyfriend (Cock Diesel) working the camera. He was hairy and not particularly well endowed, adding to the fantasy that you too could have such a cutie as a bed buddy under the right circumstances, but she had an aura of compliance that elevated the action for me as she continued to tease during the masturbation portion of the scene. The low rent setting, volumes of grain, and other issues aside, I'd go out of my way to tap into her; with her oral skills fairly well developed for a civilian. She did PTM and other then providing a passive ride; it wasn't a bad way to start the movie. In short, she had potential and took the ass cheek pop shot fairly well.

Scene Two: Charity, the girl next door type seen on the lower left hand corner of the cover, was up next in her sheer black negligee as she showed off her money maker to the cameraman (JT). She had a playful demeanor and a very appealing little pussy though the tease was limited this time since she loved cock so much that she didn't want to waste any time without one in her mouth. Scene Three: Dasani Lezian, one of the dirty talking hotties of the show, proved that her two dozen scenes released to date were all predicated on her love of sex on camera as started here in this scene from last year. This was the only scene where the guy came fully into view but I doubt anyone cares about a disposable fourth tier mope squad member like Troy and the gang unless they want to feel good about a sexually charged vixen working over one of the smallest cocks in porn. Summary: Amateur P.O.V. as released by Red Light District had numerous technical flaws that I sort of expected given the nature of the genre, even by a company that has worked hard over the years to eliminate such issues. The ladies here were a decidedly varied mix of talent and a few of the newcomers really appealed to me. I'd like to see what they could do with a real porn stud of course but they should feel confident that they passed my test in regards to pleasing the jaded old reviewer who watches too much porn (still keeping my interest). Still, I'd rather they go for a more Pro-Am approach by using better male talent and the lack of extras and running time figured heavily into making Amateur P.O.V. a Rent It for me. Check it out according to your own tastes but don't pass it up if you prefer to see the raw edges of amateur porn over the glossy slick stuff made in Chatsworth.
