Extra's: The primary extras were somewhat puzzling this time since few of them revolved around the lovely Savanna Samson. The three bonus scenes, all substantially older than Savanna's stay at Vivid, looked to be ten (or more) years old. They weren't bad but Vivid has made a number of far better scenes in recent years so why plunder the older stuff? The 10.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature was from a Mercedez flick, Acting Out, so again, I was left hanging. The short photogallery and double sided DVD cover did star Savanna but the trailers and spam looked focused elsewhere too.

Audio/Video Quality: The movie was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame in most of the scenes. Like the source material, the quality of the picture varied more than I would have liked but the action was always viewable, if not perfect. Some scenes had too much grain, others had too little lighting, and still others showed a lot of video noise but overall, the better scenes outweighed the worse this time. The audio was presented in stereo English and was likewise a mixed bag but aside from limited separation in the channels and weak dynamic range, the vocals were decent (though a few of the music tracks were shamefully lame).

Body of Review: One of the best performers at Vivid these days is the lovely Savanna Samson, the blonde cutie on the front DVD cover for this review. While she's not 18 years old, doesn't do gangbangs, and isn't associated with circus act sex, I can tell you that her beautiful face, curvy but lean body, and general heat levels are substantially sweeter than the rest of the pack at Vivid in their contract pool. This being the case, is it any wonder that Vivid routinely releases a lot of compilations starring the gal such as Heeeeere's Savanna!? The compilation took ten of her scenes, some of them among her best work, and put them together for a movie lasting well over two hours. I have to give Vivid credit since they listed the movies (albeit in tiny print) on the back DVD cover, something I've wanted them to do for years since the average consumer won't be able to make a choice about a compilation without knowing where the scenes came from. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes with a bit of brief commentary:

Scene One: I Love This Business: D-Paul Thomas: Savanna, wearing a frilly white dress, and amorous Stephen made out on a couch. I liked how enough of the background was left in to allow the viewer to have a sense of the chemistry between the couple but the way the picture was cropped left something to be desired. In any case, it was a decent scene to start with (and since I never saw the original release, it gave me something I hadn't seen before).

Scene Two: Where The Boys Aren't 16: D-Chi Chi Larue: Savanna was joined by Jenna Jameson, Dasha, Mercedes, Kira Kener, Sunrise Adams, Briana Banks, Taya, and Chloe Jones for the exciting lesbian scene that I liked the first time I saw it. Here's what I said before: "Jenna, again leading the pack, saw to the orgy that consisted of the entire cast; Dasha, Sunrise, Savanna, Chloe, Mercedes, Kira, and Briana after Mercedes was brought in, having earned her black wings (symbolizing her complete transformation into a "dark angel"). The cast soon became a writhing mass of female flesh, outlined by boy toys that weren't allowed to participate. They licked, fingered, and used all sorts of toys on one another as they got off. Jenna did less here than the others but that was likely part of the plan."

Scene Three: Bare Stage: D-David Stanley: Savanna, in a lilac & black piece, and Lezley, wearing some blue lingerie, practiced their lines on a bed in a dilapidated dive of an apartment, acted as though they had southern roots (if they did, it didn't sound it here) as they rehearsed. The two started making out and were some snuggling up on the small bed. I liked the foreplay but the music, the camera angles, and the overall impression I got from the action was that they weren't into each other (and I've seen both do great lesbian work in the past). I still liked watching them but the chemistry was lacking this time and that made it weaker than I initially expected.

Scene Four: Woman Under Glass: D-Chi Chi Larue: I liked the original movie so this scene was no surprise to me when I said: "Savanna, the attractive lead blonde of the movie, and Manuel, well-known stud about town, did the deed at the club in, guess what, a dark room. Her playfulness separated her from the others to this point and the fact that she kept eye contact with either him or the camera (a good thing). He returned the oral favor by going down on her and even rimming her a bit (she then rimmed him a bit too) before they did the deed on the couch."

Scene Five: Portrait of Sunrise: D-Chi Chi Larue: I stand by my original comments when I said: "Nicole, Savanna, Randy and Voodoo had a scene in a strip club. It was playful and showed some chemistry. I liked this one almost as much as the first scene. Yum!" I thought the droning music was overdone but the cast was into the action and that made for a good time with lots of replay value.

Scene Six: L'affaire: D-Paul Thomas: Savanna and Julian teamed up for a very solid scene: "Savanna, having warmed herself up at the thought of having actual sex with a real man (her cheating boyfriend was Nick but Julian came to her rescue) in the last scene, she enjoyed the company of Julian after coming over to his place to cook him a meal as a reward. The real reward was, of course, sex since this is a porno after all, and it was well done. They engaged in some foreplay before the oral and straight sex in the darkened room. Savanna used both her hands to finish him off; something rarely seen in a Vivid feature, and I thought they had some nice chemistry together. From a couple porn standpoint, the scene was great but no one is going to reasonably argue that this was the best the two have done in the past (Julian's strongpoint these days is gonzo and Savanna is known as Vivid's bad girl: even advertising it on the front cover)."

Scene Seven: Long Story Short: D-David Stanley: "Savannah, the lead and gal on the DVD cover, and Steven, had a scene in his apt after he showed his mental instability towards a cherry pie. She deep throats him and playfully licks the tip of his penis and he reciprocates by rimming her while they get into a 69 position. He then does her, with a condom like all the scenes here, in cowgirl and missionary before popping. It was not great because the short length of the scene (not his cock) but okay to watch."

Scene Eight: The Fetish Underground: D-Anita Rinaldi: "Savannah, in a hot looking camisole and lingerie, seduced Tony on a couch. She gave some nice oral and he played with her in return, licking her front and backside until she was ready for a good boning. She did some anal with a glass toy while she finished him off orally, ending the scene by rubbing out a load to her lovely ass."

Scene Nine: Savanna Takes Control: D-David Stanley: Savanna, playing a teacher, gave Anthony an extra credit project consisting of him pleasuring her on the desk in front of the class. Her black outfit, matching lingerie, and glasses all contributed to the kind of school teacher look so many men find very appealing (I'm one of them). I thought the two had a fair amount of heat and chemistry going for them and that was something I really liked about the scene when I first saw it. Fans of anal sex will also enjoy the anal she took but it didn't last very long before he rubbed out a load onto her face.

Scene Ten: Looking In: D-Paul Thomas: The movie ended with a very short (far too short) scene already underway. I thought the technical limitations were problematic but I still liked watching her hard body go at it with Mr. pretty boy. Here's what I originally said: "Savannah, the lead and a lean blonde, did Dale in a bed. They moved to the window to show the neighbors what they're capable of and it wasn't a bad scene. Pretty good, if limited."

Summary: I like Savanna and the scenes were well done more often than not. The weak extras kind of tweaked me off a bit but I still think Savanna's quality of performance was enough to earn this one a rating of Recommended. I checked the picture and audio of the scenes against the original DVDs (for the ones I've reviewed) and they looked the same but many of you won't get the originals since the amount of Savanna here was far more appealing. If you like her as much as a whole lot of other men and women do, check this one out.
