Extra's: The extras were standard for Vivid, including 5 bonus scenes from other releases (three with Briana Banks in them) but my favorite was the almost 10 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Ralph Parfait. There was also a short biography for Briana Banks, some trailers, a couple of photogalleries, a positions room, and a double sided DVD cover. Like most Vivid DVDs, there was also a bunch of forced spam at the beginning of the DVD that bugged me (phone sex commercials probably have their place but in front of the DVD is not one of them).

Audio/Video Quality: Foot Work was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director David Stanley. The clarity of the picture was about average for Mr. Stanley though the colors seemed accurate in most cases and a softer than average focus used sparingly. There was too much video noise and grain as I've long associated with his work but before being fired by Vivid, he seemed to be trying to improve his efforts. On the negative side, the composition of most scenes still seemed substantially less flattering to the women than most contemporary porn directors with an abundance of close up shots and lowly lit scenes to detract from their usual good looks. The audio was presented in stereo English and had little worth mentioning other than you could hear the vocal moans and the music didn't suck as badly as Stanley's usual movies.

Body of Review: Vivid is currently one of the driving forces in porn, especially since being merged into the Hustler Empire awhile back. From their sexy contract stars to their legion of marketing gurus, the company makes many of their competitors green with envy over the success it has achieved in the past twenty years. While the sex acts they focus on are not the circus act goofiness you'll see elsewhere, you can generally expect scenes that have oral and vaginal with the occasional anal tossed in when appropriate. Where it's their compilations, features, or simply vignettes driven by a common theme, Vivid addresses a mainstream audience more than the type of action a raincoater crowd would look for. The latest release by the company, Foot Work, was a curious mix of scenes that all seemed to have a bit of foot or leg fetish to them yet nothing at all on the level most aficionados will be looking for. Fans of the lean blonde cutie, Briana Banks, will be pleased that she was displayed in three of the five scenes but it wasn't her best work to date. If you don't mind the direction of David Stanley, you may well enjoy the sex here so take a look at the descriptions below to determine if this is what you want to buy:

Scene One: Briana Banks, the hotty on the front DVD cover, played a call girl to Joel Lawrence's perverted character in a scene taking place in an empty apartment on a bed. For the most part, he took charge and the oral with vaginal sex was energetic because of it. It ended with the sweaty duo showing his pop shot on her stocking clad feet but as playful as it could have been, it seemed truncated at times, almost as if some footage was edited out. If you're a fan of hers, you'll want to see the scene but the overall concept (it appeared to be set as a situation comedy television show) bared more scrutiny than it was given.

Scene Two: Wendy Devine, Eric Masterson, and Kimberly Kane, all played students to teacher Randy Spears, in a scene that started off with a test being given and soon advanced to an extra credit splooge-fest in the poorly staged classroom. Wendy looked especially hot in her skirt and stockings, taking on husband Eric as though they were doing it for kicks and youthful Kimberly appeared to like the much older Randy as they worked on her oral skills. There was some foot worship action going on but the majority of the scene was straightforward.

Scene Three: Briana Banks, wearing a Goth styled outfit to go with gal pal Lezley Zen's darker mood, had some lesbian fun in a college dorm before being joined by Lezley's real life significant other, Trevor Zen, for a threesome. Toys and tongues started off the action and then they practically attacked him (he was dressed up as a geeky guy) to fill out the scene. I thought all three were energetic here and had a decent scene, even if the lighting and camera work wasn't all that great.

Scene Four: Nicole Sheridan, playing a 20 year old valley girl with a new baby, reminded me of why I like her mouth full while giving her admittedly lame lines (who wrote this crud?) before being joined by Voodoo, dressed up like an 80's punk rocker. She used her feet to warm his penis up and soon licked it clean for enough time to ready him for some pussy plunging action on a bed that showed some chemistry and energy if a lack of general passion. It ended when she used her feet (and he used his hand) to rub out a load onto her feet. I gave it a slight nudge up because of the "Weird Al" message spray painted on the wall but it wasn't their best work ever.

Scene Five: Briana Banks, playing a corporate type working long hours at the office, and cleaning crewman Evan Stone, had a little after hours tryst on a desk to finish up the movie. They followed the formula as expected, with lots of oral sex before the vaginally boning in several positions, ending in a pop shot but there wasn't much of the advertised foot fetish action here that most fans will have expected and the overall quality of the scene was limited even if they did look great together in general.

Summary: Foot Work was one of those releases that if you really like the cast, you'll like it more than if you don't. I know that's a kind of generic statement but it applies so fully that I felt obligated in making it. I think Briana Banks is very attractive (although she could stand to gain a few pounds), as was the rest of the cast but they seemed hampered in their efforts more often than not and that's why I'm giving this DVD a rating of Rent It to the average porn fan that isn't into gonzo splooge-fests or especially enamored with the cast. If you're a fan of the gals though, you'll like it enough to overlook the technical limitations and probably think it worth a purchase.
