The Movie:

This feature, directed by AVN award winner Otto Bauer for Adam & Eve Pictures, might sound like it’s an interracial feature, but nope, it’s not. The blackmarket in the title actually does refer to a blackmarket, it’s not a euphemism of any kind. There’s a bit of a story here – believe it or not, Bree Olson, as pretty as she is, plays a big time liquor bootlegger in the south where, in the not too distant future, there are gas shortages that let some creative types come up with an all together new fuel. It’ll get your car running, but it’ll also get your loins a tingling!

As word gets out about this new invention, an evil corporation moves in on the bayou where the new fuel was invented to try and steal it for their own use, but Bree and her gal pals aren’t going to let their invention go without a fight – or a good fuck.

The plot is moderately interesting and Bauer paces it will, working in enough humor to compensate for the fact that none of the performances are really all that good, and most are actually fairly awkward. The comedy work though and while the sex scenes are obviously and understandably going to be the focus of this feature, it’s always nice when you can be entertained as well as aroused.

But you probably care more about the sex, than the story, right? So let’s get down to it, boppers…

Scene One – Bree Olson And Nick Manning: These two are going at it hot and heavy in the swamp shack Bree calls home. They make out and he gets her top off and sucks on her tits before her skirt comes up and he eats her box. Video:

Blackmarket Bayou, like pretty much every other modern day porno movie, was a shot on digital video production looks pretty clean presented here in a reasonably stable 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. It’s on par with most Adam & Eve transfers as of late. There are a lot of very noticeable mpeg compression artifacts here and there throughout in the darker scenes and a bit of shimmering but no noticeable edge enhancement. The color timing has been tinkered with the give the movie a sort of ‘hot, sweaty’ look. Skin tones look a bit orange because of this but at least the compositions are dead on (though some of the camera work in a couple of spots is quite shaky. Aside from the fact that this digital video production looks like a digital video production and as such suffers from the minor defects usually associated with the format, everything looks as good as you'd realistically expect it to (those pesky compression artifacts notwithstanding).

Sound:

The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track is quite sufficient. The dialogue comes through cleanly and clearly as do all of the moans and groans. There is no background music used anywhere during the feature aside from the opening credits and the levels do tend to fluctuate quite a bit from scene to shining scene but aside from that there isn't much to whine about here. The audio is fine and the score in particular sounds quite good here.

Extras:

Adam & Eve have supplied a decent amount of extras on this disc, staring with a Behind The Scenes (9:49) segment that features a bunch of random footage shot on set during production presented here without any context. It’s fairly inconsequential but once it segues into a photoshoot with Bree, it’s at least visually interesting. Complimenting this is 6:28 worth of interviews with the cast and crew. There’s also some behind the scenes footage in this section too.

The best of the extras, however, is a Bonus Scene (19:51) from Bree’s Anal Invasion in which a very lucky Mick Blue gets to hop into bed with lovely Ms. Olson at which point he eats her ass. She blows him and sucks on her tits and then gets to fuck her up the ass for ten minutes or so before blowing a load onto her cheeks. Rounding out the extras is a still gallery, an internet promo for the feature, trailers for a few other Adam & Eve releases, some web links and phone sex ads, animated menus and scene selection.

Final Thoughts:

Blackmarket Bayou is a pretty enjoyable feature with some decent humor and a lot of hot sex. Bree Olson’s fan base will want to give it a look as she’s very good here, even throwing some anal into the mix for the big finish. The rest of the girls give as good as they get and we wind up with a nice mix of story and sex that’s definitely worth seeking out. Adam & Eve’s DVD doesn’t look amazing but it’s watchable enough and contains a few cursory extras, making this one recommended.
