Audio/Video Quality: LUSH vol. 1 was presented in a decent 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as released by director William H. Nutsack for Elegant Angel (under their "Club 59" label) using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec with 480 resolution. The camera work was again solid with plentiful lighting to eliminate grain, video noise and shadows so the picture appeared to be in line with his other work to date. Nutsack has made or assisted on a number of titles over the years, the technical matters taking back seat (pun intended) to the raw energy of the sex, but his skill levels have always been among the best in the industry. I saw no compression artifacts though the video bitrate was roughly 3.3 Mbps when spot checked but the composition of the camera angles strongly favored the ladies and their well lit bodies. The compositions of the shots helped maximize the potential of the ladies too, rarely relying on extreme close ups all the time as some seem destined to do and the editing by Michael Cates allowing his vision to remain as complete as possible. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English track was pretty basic with little separation or dynamic range yet I could hear the cast well enough in most cases. For those keeping track, the audio was offered in a 256 Kbps offering with a 48 kHz sampling rate, the grunts and groans heard well enough but the music not a factor this time.

Body of Review: William H. Nutsack has been one of my favorite directors in porn for years due to his body of work at Elegant Angel, the lighting and copious amounts of tease almost always superior to gonzo titles from similar companies in the industry. While most of his work has involved truly decadent, hardcore trysts, his latest release of LUSH vol. 1 definitely left an impression that his ability to mirror that of gal pal Mason is nearly complete. The movie was a series of lengthy, erotic lesbian trysts where no toys were deployed and the resulting chemistry and passion made it stand out, much like Mason’s Girl Crush did when I reviewed it not long ago. The basic formula remains the same as the company seeks to show it can offer erotic lesbians trysts just as smoking hot as anything else on the market, the ladies all coming across as having orgasmed at least once during their scenes. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Isabella Sky and Jelena Jensen

Scene One: Melanie Rios and Riley Jensen, were up first to set the overall dynamic of the movie, certainly a far cry from most of the director's movies to date. There was some lengthy interview material with the gals describing what they wanted and how they approached the project, detailing what they adore about women while sitting comfortably. When the actual sex started, they were kissing romantically, caressing each other, and otherwise spending a lot of time on the basics, the sheer eroticism of it all getting me ready to rumble. A large white day bed held the two and they were dressed in jeans and tank tops rather than exotic slutware or sexy lingerie, their playful demeanor propelling the scene ahead of many others in the genre shot elsewhere. The body grinding and low key moans also helped make this one stand out, my surprise being that each of the other three scenes flowed in much the same manner.

Scene Two: Breanne Benson and Ash Hollywood were up next on the couch, slowly pawing each other and necking, the light caresses including a lot of eye contact and smiling. Breanne had a different look here due to her hair color, the contrast with Ash a nice touch. They followed the formula by keeping their clothing on as they warmed up, the street clothes more realistic than the usual lingerie I associate them wearing, the fact that they took their time elevating the scene for me much like the others. Kissing, titty play, rug munching, and lots of dedicated lesbian action without toys was the name of the game, their willingness to orally please each other giving it some sweet replay value.

Scene Three: Ella Milano and Faye Reagan, both having hair longer than usual, were up next in the living room on the couch by the piano. Faye took the lead in some ways, kissing Ella aggressively as she climbed on top of her. They kept their clothing on longer, a series prerequisite I gathered, and offered lots of little kisses on places other than the mouth. I liked the way their panties fit so closely and offered such minimal coverage, both ladies enjoying some time savoring each other’s breasts as they crawled about. The chemistry and enthusiasm were again appreciated, the variety of oral antics unencumbered by toys or fake porn moaning/yelling.

Scene Four: Jelena Jensen, an LA native with black hair and nice tits, was up next with Isabella Sky, a Peruvian hotty with a new puppy, were up last as they began their scene with a lingering kiss to the lips. Jelena was wearing a black tank top and blue jean shorts while Isabella was in a yellow top and blue jean skirt, the two closing their eyes initially as they savored the taste of each other’s lips. Jelena seemed more comfortable touching Isabella at first but once warmed up, both were just as tactile as the other. They were in the white room on a white couch, the background fading as the camera followed their antics closely. The little things made this scene stand apart from the others, their mutual appreciation for each other noted repeatedly during their oral escapades.

Bonus Scene: Girl Crush: Celeste Star, a 24 year old hotty with brilliant eyes, was up next with cute redhead Isobel Wren, the interview leading to a smoking hot tryst between the two. They were dressed reasonably well with Celeste in a pink dress and Isobel in blue jean shorts and a colorful top, both of them on the floor by a wide body white couch. They licked and kissed each other before embracing, neither of them needing any genetic juice or population pudding to deal with as they worked each other in an increasing tempo. There was a lot of nonverbal communication here (again, it was standard in the movie) the vocalizations minimalist but working for me all the same. Celeste was generally positioned in the lead too, no toys needed to get one another off at least a couple times each.

Summary: LUSH vol. 1 by director William H. Nutsack for Elegant Angel was interesting in how the interviews at the beginning of each of the four scenes seemed to properly outline what each lady expected, what she had to offer, and how much she wanted to do things as she wanted to rather than be micromanaged by some chump with a camera. The scenes then proceeded to show exactly what was promised with each scene taking on a life of its own, the pacing dictated by the ladies instead of following a strict formulaic approach as is the norm in the industry. There were some minor rough edges on the technical matters at times because of the single camera approach but frankly, the strength of the sexual interactions was as appealing as anything I've seen from companies devoted to sex-positive lesbian action, the genuine orgasms working for me every time. As such, I rated this one as Highly Recommended, the strokability and replay value for an aficionado like myself much sweeter than usual. In short, LUSH vol. 1 might have suffered slightly by lacking the widest possible variety of lesbian encounters but it was truthfully advertised in such a manner than everyone should know exactly what to expect with plenty of quality trysts to appreciate from a wonderful cast of fine young ladies.
