Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the typical 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that most porn is shot in. The scenes looked kind of grainy, a problem that Vivid has had over the years (although, to be fair, they've gotten better with recently), and there was a bunch of video noise to contend with but the picture wasn't terrible. There were no compression artifacts noticed. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English but without a lot of dialogue, there wasn't much need for the separation you'd hope for, except with the generic music. The dynamic range was nothing special and Sharon's narration was somewhat hollow.

Body of Review: I've been a fan of the lovely blonde Dasha for several years now, particularly when she works with her significant other, Dillion Day (they have a lot of chemistry together). I was saddened last year when they quit the business, focusing on feature dancing instead (of course I missed her show when she was in town last month-bummer). Vivid, having held her contract for years, is still the best place to see her work on DVD and they continue to release some of her older works as time goes by. In one of her last movies to be released, The Alley, Dasha has two scenes in a vignette-based release of five scenes. There was little dialogue (and that was by Sharon Kane in a non-sex role) and each had something to offer. If this sounds good to you, check out the following breakdowns of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Dasha, playing a Vegas showgirl, encounters Eric in the alley. She is barely dressed and he started playing with her ample breasts. He licked her all over before setting her down in a lounge chair (convenient, huh?) and went down on her. She then returned the favor and went down on him, giving some spark of energy as though she enjoyed it (good girl!), and then toying with it a bit. They boned in a couple of positions and he popped off on her chest at the end. Not a bad scene to enjoy.

Scene Two: Nakita, a redheaded gal with a lean body, took care of Randy in the alley after he tried to rob her. He went down on her and then she playfully jerked him off before taking him in her mouth. She seductively warmed herself up while he put on him condom and then they went at it in earnest. This scene also ended when she jerked him off to completion on her breasts (although he helped a bit too).

Scene Three: Dasha, again looking like a million bucks, had another scene in the alley, this time with real-life lover, Dillion. She toyed with him through his pants after some foreplay and he did the same with her, feeding her some of her own juices. She gave him a great blowjob, using her hand to jerk him hard, and her tongue to lube him up, before she squirted all over his hand. He placed her on a table and started sawing away on her pussy like it was the first he'd had in a month before she licked his balls and let him jerk a load onto her face.

Scene Four: Dee, a light-skinned Black gal, and Jordan (who was left uncredited in the credits and on the box cover), a taller, curvier blonde, wearing a Black wig though, had a lesbian scene in the alley. They did the rubbing and licking you'd expect of them but no toys were used and the scene was kind of short.

Scene Five: TJ, the tall blonde gal so many fans have loved over the years, and Violet, the popular brunette, both wore neon green wigs as they double-teamed Brad in the alley. They did some slobbering and licking of one another and the scene was a bit different from the normal formulaic scene I'm used to from Vivid. There was lots of oral and straight sex with some lesbian thrown in for good measure.

Summary: I liked this one enough to suggest it as Recommended but I'm a big fan of Dasha and TJ Hart. Even the other gals looked worthy of your payload so I can tell you that The Alley has plenty of stroke value for your consumer dollar. The technical values weren't perfect and I'd have preferred more scenes inside the feature itself (as opposed to the very nice scenes in the bonus section) but I can safely say that fans of the cast will like this one.
