Audio/Video Quality: Lock and Load was presented in a crisp anamorphic widescreen offering as shot by director Jakodema for Digital Playground with RZO given co-directing credit). Sir Richard Manwin III and Billy Visual were credited with working cameras, “Shaolin Junkie” listed in charge of video editing, and a large group of others providing their own technical assistance such as Kylie Ireland and Andy Appleton handling Art Direction. There was a lot of texture and variation of lighting, like a “real” series instead of a porno with warehouse lighting, making it visually more appealing though some of the trysts could have used more lighting (my preference) and other areas could have stood a second take due to too much lighting or camera positioning. The aural qualities by Seth Cardigan and Brother Goat were modest but presented in a post production added 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, the elevated bit rate of 448 Kbps not hurting the ability to hear the vocals, some pretty good music included though it wasn’t credited to anyone.

Body of Review: Digital Playground has long stood out as one of the biggest feature porn producers in the industry, popular director Jakodema coming out with a web series recently called Lock and Load, now released on a double disc set. The show had eight episodes of varying lengths and continued the company’s series format, the starlets including Eva Lovia, Abella Danger, Bonnie Rotten, and Alexis Adams. The story elements centered on a former hit man being recalled into service, his wife kidnapped to add leverage to his former employer’s decision. Then finding he also has a big price on his head puts the man into overdrive as he has little to lose, all major feature portions of the series tied to various mainstream efforts that should jump out at you if you pay even passing attention. The sexual encounters were rarely super hot or gonzo flavored but they were fun enough considering the format and designed to work best in episodic fashion so depending on your personal appreciation of the performers, you may find this one of their best series of the year so far.

The back cover described the movie like this: “James is a retired hit man, enjoying his continuous bedroom romps with his horny wife, Abigail Mac. In the middle of the night, intruders kidnap his wife as they beat him to a pulp. Later he receives a phone call from Danny, his old employer. The sexual trysts were fairly basic but at least some credible attempt was made to provide the kind of drama that might interest the younger crowd not obsessed with plot holes or details so much, the ability to sit back and have fun important to appreciating this one (the tacked on supernatural aspects seeming out of place to me). In short, Lock and Load provided new company contract cutie Eva Lovia in her first key role in a series, ladies like Abigail Mac, Bonnie Rotten, Abella Danger, and others showing their assets nicely, a few not as well suited for the feature portions of the show but all of them cute enough to add to the replay value and strokability so check it out, my wish that a mode to play the whole show without the breaks for credits and recaps still left unanswered so far.
