Overview: I've been a fan of Larry David's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' for quite some time, so I jumped at the chance to review this parody. My initial reaction to hearing of the Hustler parody was that it was either going to be hit-or-miss production. I had a sense that there was to be no middle ground considering the characters of the HBO show. In all seriousness, who wants to see an old man getting it on with tight broads? That being said, I'm hoping for the best, but preparing myself for the worse. Furthermore, this is my first parody review for Hustler, so I'm unfamiliar with their caliber of parodies in comparison to X-Play and New Sensations. Regardless, join me as I take a close look into the world of Larry David's sex game.
The action gets started with Courtney Cummz and Leone, played by Justin Long. Justin lets Courtney into Larry's house and Courtney proceeds to blow and titty fuck him. Special Features: The only worthwhile extras are the behind the scenes feature and six Hustler trailers. The six minute behind the scenes features short interviews with the girls and the mood on set. The other 'features' are filler material advertising other Hustler products (phone sex, website, store). A photo gallery is also included.
Audio/Video Quality: Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo and was clean throughout the entire presentation. The audio level can be set at a minimal level and all the dialogue can be well heard throughout each scene. The soundtrack of the parody is very similar to that of the HBO show and can get annoying pretty fast. The video was shot by Stuart Canterbury in HD anamorphic widescreen using a 1.78:1 ratio. Lighting was well done and provided a strong and accurate presentation that resembled that of the original show.
Final Thoughts: I can honestly say this was an entertaining parody but nowhere near the caliber of Lee Roy Myers or Will Ryder. Stuart Canterbury attempts to capture the dry humor of the Larry David show, but the performers fall flat in their acting attempts. Regardless, I found the parody to be okay and enjoyable. Don't expect this to be a grade A parody that you might be used to, this falls a little short, so give it a rental before purchasing. However, if you find it on sale online or in a retail shop and are a fan of the show, pick it up. Recommended
