Then came 45:53 minutes of interviews by the lead performers, followed by a 13:38 minute interview by the director, a photogallery, some trailers, and spam. The double disc set was housed in a DVD case with a slipcover too.

Audio/Video Quality: The Truth About O was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen as shot by cameraman Ralph Parfait for director Ernest Greene for Adam & Eve. The sexual trysts looked better than the previous volumes in the series in terms of their clarity, composition, and attention to detail while the feature elements seemed less impressive. The editing by Michael Kahn was choppy at times but given the quality of footage provided, he wove it together well enough. The bitrate was okay and there was enough care given to lighting, the overall effect being that fans of the series will like it better than the majority of BDSM themed material currently on the market. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital using a 224 Kbps bitrate, the vocals handled in a mixed manner since the levels were not consistent. The music was minimalist but fitting and there was little ambient audio to get in the way of the production.

Body of Review: Ernest Greene is best known in porn for the many roles he has assumed in terms of advocacy, his relationship to Nina Hartley, and as a director of BDSM titles. His ties to Adam & Eve in the “O” series, each thematically linked to the classic novel, is now continued with The Truth About O, Bobbi Starr assuming the role of the world renowned subordinate. Whatever your personal take on the kink involved, the emphasis here was easily on the sex, including lots of rope bondage, the five scenes exploring things just deeply enough to serve newcomers in dabbling more than long term aficionados. I thought Bobbi Starr was great in the leading role due to her sensuality, looks, and overall ties to kinky sex, but some of the secondary squad and the writing left me a bit put off at times. Regardless, while this hardly compared to some of Bobbi’s own directorial works of the past year in terms of kink, the feature elements did help ease the viewer into the situations somewhat, Ernest proving he still provides strokable BDSM smut.

She finds herself once again attracted to him, but there's not time to act on her impulses. Ray must return to Europe and O must fulfill her mission. When Yvette comes to O's studio to pose for a series of electrifying images of Japanese-style rope bondage conceived by Claire, O's plans come to fruition. Big fans of the genre will probably think it falls into the “must have” genre, Bobbi Starr, Justine Joli, Asa Akira, and Jessie Andrews showing some ability at convincing action. In short, The Truth About O was among the bigger budget BDSM titles of the season so far, the relative lack of competitors serving it well in the upcoming awards season but it was not earth shattering in terms of the sex or the feature elements. Still, you could do far worse for adult entertainment, the company apparently in another transition phase given the titles they are releasing.
