The Movie:

Carla runs a whorehouse and she's afraid that a bad, bad man named Howie Mann is going to move in on it and take it over for himself. So what does Carla do? She hires a private detective named Mark Lowe (John Leslie) to watch over the joint and make sure that Howie doesn't pull any fast ones on them.

While Carla intends for Mark's relationships with the employees in her house of ill repute to be purely professional, what with this being a porno film and all, well let's just say that it doesn't quite work out that way.

Scene 1 –:A lucky employee of the whorehouse played by Joey Silvera lets Kristera Barrington sit on his face and wiggle while Pattie Petite goes to town with her mouth on his member. Video:

Beyond Desire was shot on film so it has a reasonable high level of detail in it. Some of the scenes aren't lit so well and so they look a little dark but other than that, the movie looks pretty decent. Skin tones look pretty lifelike and while there is some mild print damage evident from time to time none of it is too severe.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack has both an English and Spanish language option. Dialogue is fine but there is some hiss on the track and the obviously low budget conditions under which the film was shot are audible in the mix. You can understand what's being said easily enough though and the levels are mixed and balanced properly. John Power's goofy score comes through nice and clear.

Extras on this release include a photo gallery consisting of fourteen images from the film, cast credits, an advertisement for three other VCD Classics titles, an internet link, and contact information for VCA.

Final Thoughts:

While Beyond Desire isn't on par with some of the other XXX detective stories that came out of the era, the great cast and bad puns more than make the movie worth a look for fans of classic smut cinema. Recommended.
