Audio/Video Quality: Forbidden was presented in 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Joshua for Adam & Eve. The video bitrate was hovering around the 5.7 Mbps mark when spot checked and the visuals were all pretty much what I expected going into this one, the motion dehancements and artistic touches not going too overboard but not my favorite approach either. Each scene began with a tease, had a degree of abrupt editing, and yet still managed to showcase each gal in a slight variation that added to their appeal (not an easy thing to do). So while you won’t get the equivalent of the “Michael Ninn” experience, you won’t get the crystal clarity of the “William H. Nutsack” approach either. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using a 48 kHz sampling rate and 192 Kbps audio bitrate, the minimal separation between the channels and limited music blended into the vocals well enough to insure they were easily heard, even if they were a bit hollow at times. While not completely devoid of aural enhancement, the audio did serve the scenes well in most ways, the dynamic range fair for a porno but I admit to disliking the tease music in almost every case.

Body of Review: Joshua is known by many as the significant other of hotty Teagan Presley, his directing for Adam & Eve growing in reputation too. Given his background in technical areas, he started off as a step above the usual “warehouse clerk fill in” which seems to be how many in the industry got their start, his willingness to bring in hired guns to assist in making his flicks a nice change of pace too. His yearly outing involving a selection of attractive young babes is called Forbidden, the five scenes never deviating (pun intended) from past titles which will be considered either good or bad depending on your tastes. For me, the biggest draw was seeing Teagan, albeit in yet another lesbian scene (to be fair, her sexual aggressiveness was pretty sweet!) but few would complain about seeing curvy Alexis Texas, contract babe Alexis Texas, or any of the others in the movie either in terms of female casting. The advertised “bombshell” aspect and “forbidden” nature of the ladies might be in question but the hype is always of the kind thought up on a deadline, late at night, by someone with other irons in the fire so I wasn’t overly worried about it. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Alexis Texas

Scene One: Kiara Diane, the blonde on the right side of the front cover, was up first as she took on studly Derrick Pierce in a living room overlooking the pool. Her motion-dehanced tease was okay and then she masturbated with a basic vibrator before Derrick came in to continue warming her up. The lighting and edits were particularly harsh on her look, the makeup not enhancing her appeal at all though she still provided some stroke value given that smoking hot body, alluring eyes, and all natural frame. Summary: Forbidden by director Joshua for Adam & Eve was worth a Rent It from me, the quality of the scenes impacted heavily by the strict formula applied and the general lack of enthusiasm by the ladies in most cases. The scenes were short compared to most released these days and while each lady was cast well as a strokable object of desire, the presentation lacked something compared to earlier efforts by the man. I have no doubts that all the usual people will sing the praises for the project for all the usual reasons but frankly, I guess I expected more than something that seemed so retro from a director widely acclaimed as a guy able to give us a whole new look at porn. In short, while Forbidden did indeed have such notable babes as Teagan Presley, Alexis Texas, and Alexis Ford, you might want to check it out first before dropping hard earned cash on it. The technical crew involved with making it was top notch (such as David Lord, Ren Savant, Francois Clousot, and Von Vogner) but something was lost in the translation for me that caused me to pause a bit, my GF affirming that “he’s done better”. Still, give it a look if you like the casting, I’ve certainly seen worse from far larger companies than Skinworxxx in recent times, your personal tastes may vary.
