Extra's: This disc has your usual extras - A photo slide show, the cast list, 6 previews for other Hustler titles, a behind-the-scenes look at Barely Legal 39, and an interview with the director, Clive McLean. The behind-the-scenes clip is pretty interesting. They explain how Victoria won the Hustler Beaver Hunt contest, and how this is her first video ever. They go on to interview the rest of the people in the 1st scene, and show the actual making of that scene. The director's interview looks like the same one I've seen in other Clive McLean DVDs. The scene selection is especially good on this disc, allowing you first to pick the scene you want, and then to choose which sex act you want to jump to. The chapter stops in-between sex acts made for easy browsing while watching the movie as well!

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame and had rich colors and good lighting. There's no complaints about the picture quality here. McLean has done 39 Barely Legals, so I guess he knows what he's doing. The 2-channel stereo audio was decent, though there were certain scenes that seemed softer than others. There was occasional background music that faded out as the scenes got more intense.

The Movie: I'll be the first to admit, I've been a HUGE Barely Legal fan for the longest time. So I was pretty psyched to get to review this disc. However, I walked away slightly disappointed. My biggest gripe is with the casting. There are 6 girls in this movie, but only 2 which I feel are worthy of Barely Legal (the amazing Bianca, and newcomer Victoria). Madison was covered in big tattoos, has a monster bush, and she's got the most annoying moaning sound known to man! I also wasn't thrilled that both Domino and Katsumi were in this video. I'm used to Hustler throwing in an ethnic girl in most of their videos, but two of them was a bit much for me. If I wanted to watch a bunch of Asian girls, I'd pick up an Asian disc. Lastly, I wasn't thrilled about Nicole either. She looked like a girl from the 80s, with hair down to her waist, and a not-great face. And lastly, with the exception of Bianca, all of these girls were severely flat-chested. They may be barely legal, but I've seen 14 year old with bigger breasts than these girls!

Get past the physicalities, and you've got a good disc here. The sex is explosive as always, and I've always enjoyed the segways into each scene, instead of just jumping into the sex with no story. There are no condoms used, which adds to the realism for me. The first scene is a MFF threesome that's pretty sweet, and the rest of the scenes are traditional one-on-one sex scenes, with nothing to outrageous. Nothing wrong with that, as that's always been the way Barely Legal has been, and I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Final Thoughts: While not the greatest Barely Legal out there, this is still a decent disc. Take a look at the box, and see if the stars appeal to you. If so, by all means go pick this video up. Otherwise, I'd make this a rental. I realize Clive McLead has his hands full with another new series on top of this one, but hopefully he'll slow down with the releases and focus once again on what's important (and what made this series popular to begin with), the beautiful girls.
