Audio/Video Quality: Lexington "Hard As" Steele was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Joey Silvera for distribution by Evil Angel. Due to the age of the scenes, the lighting was mixed and that caused some issues with grain and shadows. There were some compression artifacts and the composition of the scenes left much to be desired on a regular basis, but the fleshtones were accurate and it was interesting to see how much improvement Joey has made over the last 7 or 8 years. None of the scenes were so poorly made that they were unwatchable but again, his current work is much more pleasing to the eye in most ways. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track was as basic as ever, maybe even more so, coming across like a monaural vocal track mastered to suggest a stereo signal to my receiver. The vocals were not always clear and the music was a nuisance a few times, but these are classic scenes of the Dark Prince so some technical issues are a matter of course.

Body of Review: Joey Silvera is known by some people as the director that gets into trannies and others as a staple of modern porn. Whichever version of the facts you believe in, the man has been something of a legend for years and this is an undeniable truth given his body of work as both director and performer. I remember how well liked he was back in the late 70's as the guy who could act, make you laugh, and still pop on queue when needed. As a director, he puts a lot of the same skills to work and such was the case in today's review of Lexington "Hard As" Steele, a compilation of scenes starring the Dark Prince of porn made by Joey years ago. While I wish the compilation would've been a more comprehensive three disc set that included works from all of the Evil Angel directors, this was certainly a pleasing set with a goodly amount of fuck for the buck.
