THE MOVIE

John "Buttman" Stagliano once again indulges his signature girl-glutes fetish in this 20th visit to the outdoor Nudes a Poppin' beauty pageant in sunny Roselawn, Indiana. There are more female fannies than you can count in this voyeur's paradise, as nude young women of all shapes and sizes strut, dance, pose and contort in hopes of winning various trophies -– or more likely, just for the joy of showing off.

There is no narration and no real structure to the program. Though we hear him oohing and ahhing the girls or occasionally asking them questions, Stagliano is less of a presence here than in his own hardcore productions. He's essentially on hand as a journalist, a welcome intruder on the festivities who has been given inside-the-fence access. Which means his cameras get closer, more intimate views of the girls than any of the spectators who've paid to attend. He has no "official" capacity, either as emcee or judge; Ron Jeremy is the actual announcer, but Stagliano's mike doesn't fully capture the Hedgehog's jokes, introductions or interviews with contestants.

As with other "Buttman at Nudes a Poppin'" discs, there is no hardcore sex here, just extreme, graphic nudity. The 40 or so women – nearly all white, and most apparently professional pole dancers – wear little but a smile as they pose on the grass for the paying customers, then take the poolside stage to dance and, if they're wearing anything, strip. The final segments are devoted to the giving of awards, though who is winning what exactly is pretty unclear. Not that it really matters.

We get good looks at all 40 contestants (who for some reason are numbered 1-20 and 40-59; perhaps numbers 21-39 are reserved for another DVD), and at three and a quarter hours, only the most insatiable ogler could come away disappointed. Unlike mainstream porn, with its buff and/or augmented femme flesh, the girls here are frequently natural and not always skinny. Several women are double- or triple-jointed as ankles lock behind heads to give full access to labia and bunghole closeups. One fit blonde early in the proceedings impresses with a unique trick: while sitting in the shallow end of the pool, she sucks water into her pussy then spreads her legs and shoots out a 6-foot stream (which Stagliano presents in slow motion to more fully appreciate the feat).

The event was blessed with a clear, sunny day, and Stagliano's video cameras (if not his hands) lovingly caress every golden butt cheek and brown nipple. Hirsutists will be disappointed: there's nary a bush to be found.

THE DVD

The value of this DVD lies in its main program, not in its extras, which leave much to be desired. The special features amount to photo galleries (do we really need to see still shots of girls we've already stared at for 3 hours?); a list of contestant names (but no links to their segments in the main program); unnecessary filmographies of Tricia Devereaux and some dozen contestants (their credits amount to Buttman's previous "Nudes a Poppin'" titles); and a list of the winners in various categories. The champs include Miss Nude Entertainer (Schevelle), Miss Nude North America (Jaded Dawn), Miss Nude Rising Star (Rachelle La'Ree), Miss Nude Go-Go (La'Ree), and audience choice awards for Best Breasts (Tarryn), Best Legs (Celeste Roxx), Best Buns (Mirage) and Crowd Pleaser (the popular Ms. La'Ree again). It's a shame Stagliano couldn't get any of the girls back to his van or hotel for some actual sex.

The main menu, which features live-action scenes, offers the basics: Play Movie; Chapters (a generous 50 to break up the lengthy show); and Nudes a Poppin' Info, which amounts to a screen announcing: "Nudes a Poppin' is held at the Ponderosa Sun Club
in Roselawn, Indiana on the 3rd Sunday of July and August each year."

LAST WORD

Viewers who simply love to look at naked, unashamed women strutting and spreading in bright sunlight will have no complaints with "Buttman at Nudes a Poppin' #20," as the parade of flesh (frequently shot from behind in classic Buttman style) is supremely easy on the eyes. The women are all attractive, and come in a wide variety of body types to suit all tastes. But even the most lecherous fan will find it all a bit tedious if attempted in one sitting. The lack of hardcore sex and meaty extras are also drawbacks. But butt lovers will have loads of fun here, so the disc merits a "Recommended" mark.
