Audio/Video Quality: National Asstime was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Richard De Montford for Excessive Entertainment, a subsidiary of VCA Pictures. The lighting was generally flat and that helped limit the shadows and grain a lot as the performers engaged in sexual misconduct in front of the cameras. The composition of the shots wasn't always favorable to the cast, especially the ladies, but it was done in a straightforward manner rather than rely on artistic effect for heat so it had some points of merit in that regard. There were no compression artifacts observed in most of the movie although a few parts were graced with the minimal flaws. The stereo audio was offered up in Dolby Digital but the music was generic and the vocals mixed somewhat crudely as the scenes varied more than a little bit from my observations.

Body of Review: VCA is in the process of trying to reestablish it's place in the porn pantheon in recent months; not an easy thing to do with no contract performers, no established names in their directorial pool, and fewer resources than they had before their sale to Hustler was finalized some time ago. Thankfully, someone has been listening and the company is becoming a force for solid porn once more, albeit taking one step at a time and sometimes falling short of the mark. One of the company's latest efforts, National Asstime was a selection of five anal scenes with performers of varying quality but worth a look compared to some of the more generic offerings VCA has had of late. If you recognize the cast, you'll know that some of them are very talented at anal and none of these scenes used condoms like the VCA of old used to require. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action then, noting that fans of the cast will likely want to skip my review and simply go get their own company:

Scene One: Georgia Peach, a girl next door type with some of her baby fat still intact, was up first with the massive Lee Stone after she complained about working retail jobs. Waving an American flag, she teased the camera and rubbed herself until he came up behind her to offer up his huge member for her sucking pleasure. While she didn't deep throat him and used her hand on the majority of the shaft, her dirty talk assisted her in starting off the scene with a bang. It was a sloppy blowjob and this led to him going down on her; concentrating on her little pucker, before the two boned vaginally like they were in heat. They moved into anal after that and while she wasn't especially active in the backdoor work, it wasn't a bad scene to enjoy. It lasted about a half hour and had him finishing up by jerking out a load onto her face.

Scene Two: Claire Robbins, a cutie with a tomboy haircut and short skirt with white panties, sat on the steps of a large house as she pondered the mysteries of American cock. This scene was markedly shorter than the last (if that's not a metaphor, what is?) but the two shared some chemistry and heat together nonetheless; making it a decent little display of skill.

Scene Three: Kelly Rose and Katie Rae, a couple of lean little blondes that I'm not particularly familiar with, portrayed the "anal girls" who only liked American guys in their ass as they teased one another on a velvety couch. The lick fest began with them getting each other ready by rubbing and sucking each other but it wasn't until they were joined by Jack Lawrence that the two perked up. That they masturbated with light purple toys was cool and all but the real deal was on their mind so they dropped everything to join him in some fun. The gals took turns sucking him off, sharing like team players do, and this led to the inevitable screwing of their pussies and asses. I wasn't fond of some of the blemishes here (caused by shaving the crotch too closely) but as far as generic porn whores go, they suited as well as could be expected. The down side of the scene was that they both lacked in energy and chemistry as they played with Jack, making the scene the most mechanical of the bunch.

Scene Four: Bailey, a hotty playing a stripper at a club, claimed that she was worried about not getting hard anal sex after leaving Texas in the narrative. As she gyrated on stage, she earned a couple of bucks from Brett Rockman and I only wished she could've done some pole work other than what he offered her. The sex itself took place after she masturbated on stage and he came up to join her for some heated oral. I liked the way she inhaled his meat pipe while concentrating all her attention on keeping eye contact. In that sense, she was a natural and the rest of the scene showed her skills weren't limited to just a quick screw as she aggressively rode his shaft in her pussy and ass in several positions. The taste testing was minimal this time but I hope to see more of her in the future as long as she keeps her all natural breasts intact and maintains her skill level. Her "Texas Special" certainly worked for me if you catch my drift.

Scene Five: Staci Thorn, the lean blond that has been very popular in gonzo pornos of late, portrayed a rancher gal as she took on Howard Stern look-alike Otto Bauer, in a coral with horses in it. He claimed that he was offering her "Texas Tube Steak" although I've never been under the impression that he was from anywhere close to the glorious Lone Star State. Regardless, she worked him over orally well enough and his rough attitude allowed her to shine as she took most of his shaft deep in her mouth and the rest of the action, including vaginal and anal, was equally well handled. In fairness, she did a better job in the anal this time, acting like she was more into getting her backdoor filled than her pussy so fans of this kind of thing will like her all the more due to it. In the end, she did a technical DP before the pop shot to her mouth that he rubbed out and this finished up the show fairly well.

Summary: National Asstime had no extras, some mixed technical values, and a generic approach to anal sex but still seemed worthy of at least a rating of Rent It based on the stronger scenes. It may not have offered up anything special this time but it was certainly a decent ride with some established hotties doing their trademarked tricks in front of the camera. Those of you that like anal sex but don't get into the circus act sex some gonzo companies seem to be pushing these days might actually like this one more than those since the straightforward nature of the scenes wasn't half bad but it lacked the spark to push it up one more rating level most of the time.
